If you were... by Cathal O Malley

If you were just a barren page,
Id never read another book.
If you were just a shattered mirror,
Id cut my eyes to snare a look.

If you were just one drop of rain,
Id scavenge,savour that single drop.
If you were but an autumn leaf,
You'd soar!, not fall from high treetop

And when i find myself again,
Whole,linked to your soul.
Ill never wonder if you were, just
My hearts hungry stroll.
