Seperating Hands by Matt Jakstis

We walk together holding hands,
Watching the waves hit the sand,
The sun begins to fill the sky so bright,
And us together seemed so right,
Your hand inside of mine,
I could do this all the time,
The palm trees sway in the wind,
The waves caress our feet and then rescind,
The two of us walking and holding hands,
Leaving our footprints in the sand,
When your not there I am empty,
But with you at my side you fill me,
The sun sinks to night,
The waves twinkle with the fading light,
And then our hands begin to break,
Your grip is loosed and we separate,
Just as a sunset has its end,
Now I can only call you a friend,
Us together is now a memory and,
We walk separate ways in the sand…
