Her Little Sail Boat by Justin Thomas Squires

Her Little Sail Boat

I set her a sail
On a homemade ship
The material frail
For a hope-ful trip
I said my goodbyes
With some hurtful phrases
With meening of hope
With meening of embrace

Hoping she would take my words
Take them to heart.
So that she'd heal from them
even when were apart.

But as I watched her sail
toward a hope-ful place
Her ship began to sink.
Began to vanish without a trace.

I watched her slip
Into the unforgiving waters.
I droped onto my knees
Silently I cried
As I watched her hope die

Im sorry I failed you.
