These lies are planned but not thought through,
these lies that could cause dread.
But friends so close know they are not true,
these lies from a spiteful head.

To lay at night and dream and plan,
to wish it could be true.
To try and spit upon this man,
while those around you grew.

But then all have a closer look,
and see where you have been.
They choose to read a different book,
There thoughts are pure and clean.

Perhaps we can never get our way,
our imaginations sad and dark.
But the truth will always find a way,
you did not leave a mark.
