Broken Vow by Carolyn Northerland

My heart melted for you
While yours bled for me.
Everything you went through...
Now it's just a dream.

I want to heal your heart;
Close the wounds I caused.
But now we're far apart.
On your grave I pause.

I'll leave an offering;
It's all I can do
Besides cause suffering...
My heart I'll leave for you.

Rip it from my body,
Toss it all aside.
Doesn't matter any,
My heart's void of pride.

I hurt you long ago,
So watch my pain now.
Oh...how I miss you so
...like a broken vow.
