"Serena take your break. You need it. Darien come in yet?" Josh asked appering from the back. "Yeah he's in his office." she said as he walked off.

Serena grabbed a slice of meat lovers and a coke and headed into the breakroom. She sat her stuff down on the table, and plopped into a chair.
She munched on her pizza, and slowly sipped her soda, as she read through the days paper.

Darien stuck his head into the breakroom. Serena was the only one there. He walked in, and sat down across from Serena. "Whatcha doin Rena?" Darien asked. Serena practically jumed out of her chair. "That was not funny Mr. Hot Shot. What do you want?" She asked. "Is that any way to talk to your boss?" He asked. "Only when you've known him since you were two. Seriously though, what can i do for you?" she asked "Marry me." he teased. Serena got up out of her chair and walked over to Darien. She sat down in his lap and strung her slender arms around his broad shoulders. With a southern belle accent she said. "Why Darien, I thought that you'd never ask. Sadly i have to turn you down. You see, just last night father accepted a proposal from Josh. I'm sorry your just too late." She teased back.

"Oh yeah, i can really see that. I wonder how Evan would react to Josh proposing to a women?" Dairen said thoughtfully. "I don't know, but i bet that it would be funny. What exactly did you want to talk to me about?" Serena asked. "Are you planning on sitting in my lap the entire time?" he asked, a little uncomfortable. "Yes i am. I'm comfortable." she answered. "Josh and I had a meeting the other day. We mostly just went over finances, and what needed to be ordered for the week. We also taked a little bit about what was going on in the store. We knew that we were going to loose Angie, and i told him we needed to let Lisa go. With Angie gone to be a stay at home mom, a managers posistion has opened up. We got to talking about the employees we have on who might deserve the promotion. They had to be hard working, able to make good descisions, and fast at what they do. They also had to be on time, and willing to work late, and come in their days off. We could only think of one person who fits the description who really deserved it. It didn't take very much to come up with the name. Serena, if you want the posistion it's yours." Darien said.

"Me? Are you serious?"Serena asked. "Yes Serena, i'm Serious. Would i lie to you about something like this? No i would'nt. Yes We're sure that you are the one that deserves the promotion. So Yes or No Rena, Do you want it?" He asked. "Yes I'll take it. I'm just surprised thats all. When do i start training?" She asked. "Tommrow. By the time that you graduate in 6 weeks, you'll be fully trained. Any questions?" He answered. "Exactly what all do i get to do?" Serena asked. "All of what you're doing now, plus scheduling, shift list, summer help, some of the finances, and a few minor things."Darien answered. "Thanks Darien, you're the best friend, and boss a person could ask for!" Serena said and gave Darien a hug. "Hmm, maybe i should promote you more often.
