Will you go?"
"I'll go." I replied "but I have no idea what they want me for!". As I walked up the gangway that led to the ship I took one last look around. Who knows maybe this will be the last chance I get to see my home world.

"No, you will see it again." A voice from behind me made me jump. It was the light being that was at the top of the gangway.
"You will see your home-world again."
It was this time that I noticed that the creatures did not possess what we would call a mouth, and I quickly realised that he was communicating by telepathy.
"You wish to know why we chose you", I nodded, "because although you are not the most intelligent person, your brain is the most powerful."
"How can I help?" I asked but, before the answer came the gangway retracted and the doorway shut in similar fashion to a lift door closing.
"My name is Drax, but if you concentrate you will be able to answer your own questions before you ask them!"
I did as Drax instructed, and I concentrated. Before long I could answer all my own questions. The Honistons, as they call themselves, live on a planet that circles the star that we call 67 Ophiuchus, a double supergiant pair of stars.
Fluctuations in the radiation of the stars had severely damaged the planets computer upon which the Honiston civilisation depend. As they are beings of light, they have no means to repair their failing computer.

The control room of the ship was little more than a large seat with two arm rests and two slots in the armrests were the pilot placed his hands. The ship was thought controlled!I sat down and strapped myself into the seat. I placed my hands in the control slots and felt the tingle as the sensors inside connected to my hands. I wasn't quite sure how but my subconscious mind gave the Baltoo ( this was the ships name!) lift off and assent instructions. Once clear of the Earth's atmosphere, the Baltoos warp-drive generator fired up and the ship lurched forward. There were large observation windows in front of me through which I watched as the Solar System flew by. It took no longer than fifteen minutes to reach the heliosphere beyond which lied the great mass of the galaxy. Once we entered free space the worm-hole generator came online. Four large projections extended from each side of the Baltoo, and magnetic discharges carried anti-matter to a safe distance from the ship and mixed with matter at a precise rate created a worm-hole in space. The ship was catapulted through by a huge surge in the warp drive field generator and almost instantaneously I was looking down at a planet that from above looked very similar to our own blue/green Earth. Without really knowing how I had piloted this ship all the way to Holiston.

Once landing on the surface had been completed, Drax took me to the control centre.
"I have to ask Drax, why me?" I said as I got to work. "This computer could have been repaired by anyone from Earth."
"Maybe" Drax said "but nobody else has the brainpower to control the Baltoo."
"You mean to tell me that out of the billions on Earth, there was only me!" I continued.
"Yes" came the quick reply.
"Where are the rest of your people?" I asked.
"When the computer is repaired then you will meet them" he said, and promptly disappeared through the door of the room.
"I hope you can teach me that one!" I said out loud and continued with the repairs.
It didn't take long to repair the computer, a few circuit boards and a bit of wiring was all it took.
Drax appeared again and I switched the computer back on.
