The family album didn't present a great interest to me, until by an unexplained curiosity to know my forefathers I started to stare to the pictures from his pages.
One of the oldest pictures attracted my attention which depicted the wedding of my grand-grand father with the whole village beside him, but even if it immortalize a hundred years old moment something give him a contemporary air.
For some months my subconscious search for the answer, until suddenly I realized the fact that on certain character which appeared sheepish in a corner of the photography it was find again in a recent picture from my brother christening.
Same features, same youth as if a century pass by without laying down a single wrinkle on his face.
I have been contemplating for long the two images hopping to find a logical explanation or something plausible at least, but nothing.
Unfortunately, my father died five years ago, but I knew that this man was a close friend of his and that he helped him many time in his youth.
But this was all I know and nobody else knew him.
And if this character could not be found in the present I heaved to find him in the past.
Fortunate enough, my grandmother decided not to leave this world yet, so I was thinking that she will unravel this mystery, maybe she knew this man.
What I found out did not divulge the secrecy, but make it deeper.
My grand-grandfather was a poor boy in the beginning of our century, man with God fear he didn't know the sweet venom of sin.
He worked hard to buy a plot of land on which to raise a hut, his eyes felt on a beautiful girl who stolen the hearts of many boys.
But the parents of the girl refuse to married her with the son of a poor peasant, mostly because there daughter dowry was hunted by many suitors.
He started to drown his black heart in liquor when in the village appear a man from other regions.
He seems to understand the trouble of my forefather and in short time they became best friends.
What did they talk, nobody knows, certain is that in one morning he turn up in the front door of my grand-grandmother proving to her parents that he has money.
They give the girl with great joy to enrich young man.
Twenty years past away and he had the biggest farm in the village, when the old friend returned unexpected. Soon, he started to loosed all; the farm, the land, the house. In the end he lost his minds and died. Everything that has been created from love was shatter as if the devil put his tail into there happiness. Who was this character? Is it him? This answer will be given in time to the generations that will follow, until then is just waiting.
