Behind him, Koubal swore again and slinked off into the shadows, admitting defeat. He watched the back of Elezar slowly grow, until he melted into the background.
"Next time", Koubal murmured to himself, and left the shadows, mingling with the crowd.

The group was upstairs in a dormitory-like room, discussing their plans. In particular, Leipol was extremely worried about the obviously present Assassin's Guild.
"This could prove to be a huge challenge unless we work something out with the Guild. They're going to realize soon our purpose, and won't take kindly to us. We have to resolve this before we can do anything."
Sielhu stirred from his cowl and spoke.
"We must get in touch with the shady characters of the Underground. Money will make them do anything, even betray their city."

Elezar paused in the doorway, panting and trembling with fear. The assassin posing as a bouncer at the club gave him a brief look and let him through. Inside, his excited mind dizzied by the cacophony, recited the password, and retreated into the backroom and through the hidden entrance. He was home, safe at last.
A large shadow suddenly loomed. He looked up, disoriented by the appearance of the cruel and sadistic Riele. He sneered.
"What are you doing here, you runt? We don't need you. Why don't you just go and join your parents?" He lurched off, laughing at his own joke.
Elezar stared at his retreating back for a long time. He clenched his fists, vowing to avenge his parents and prove his worth. So lost in his memories was he that he totally forgot about the warning he was meant to deliver to the Guild master.

"Nothing. No one is willing to divulge information. Not something expected from shady lowlifes from the underground." Brawyn flatly declared as he entered their rooms.
Lleywn looked up disinterestedly from his dice game with Sielhu.
"What? Did your face scare them away?" He swung his gaze back to the dice game and murmured, "You devil, Sielhu. You moved those dice just then didn't you?" Sielhu looked up with a gaze of pure innocence.
Brawyn growled, "I don't see you trying to do anything, scum!"
"That's because they've already found a way for us to infiltrate the Assassin's Guild and take what information we need directly from the guild, rather than get our information piecemeal from unreliable sources." A voice intruded upon Brawyn's anger, turning around in surprise to see Recluse with an enigmatic smile. A thick silence followed.
"Well? What is your awesome infallible plan, oh great ones?" Brawyn asked sarcastically, impatient with the silence.
Sielhu spoke up for the first time. "I don't think such a lowly worm as you deserves to know." Brawyn looked up speechless as the 3 pseudo-gods left the room, shut the door, and began to burst with laughter.

"So you see here, fine gentlemen, here's your opportunity to strike at the Assassin's Guild. Now, my contacts could certainly arrange a meeting with the assassin, at a price." The old beggar cackled as he downed another mug of beer.
