SUMMARY: 'bonus material'

The Tanton military is divided as follows:
the tower guards:
Dragon and Demon towers(green troops)
Hydra and Kraken towers(experienced troops heavy cannon and some mages
Manticore and Griffin towers(experienced troops some older vets and the most cannon)
air, fire, earth, and water towers (vets only and many mages {gun mages})
these make up the Tanton home guard and never leave the city, for any reason.

Army of Tanton:
Tantonian First, largest mobile force. heavy concentration of Knights, calvary and lancers. second largest force.
Second Guard, (guardsman) Tanton militia. they have a rotateing active list. made up of part-time fighters. used as a reserve.
Tantonian Third Rangers. stationed far from Tanton. lookouts and outpost guards. scouts.
Hussak Vure, (South guard) the military force of the city of Outpost, a protectorate of Tanton. third largest military unit. mostly skirmishers. made up of Kaslan outcastes left after the third Kaslan Invasion.
Northridge Lancers. not large enough to be counted as an 'army', only about 500 at their best, they have nevertheless held the north-east border of Tanton for a thousand years. known for their fierceness and tenacity in battle, these humans live close to barbarian lands and have inter-married with them.

Tanton Navy. mostly shallow water craft, schooners and other fast boats that rely on speed and cannon accuracy to fight their foes. home port is, of course, Tanton. they also have ports elsewhere on the Dorn sea, Teon in the west, on the mouth of the Roren River , and a small town called Ganny in the east, not far from Northridge.

Force structure:
Squad:
for the main force this is about ten men, twelve for archers and eight for Knights and Lancers. In the specialized troops like Gun mages this goes down to five.

Platoon:
this consists of four ro five squads [40-50 fighters]

Company:
two, sometimes three platoons, and commanding unit, usually a lieutenant and his command squad. Usually supported buy some specialized troops( IE cannoneers, gun mages, or archers.) [100-160 fighters]

Battalion sometimes Regiment:
four companies for most of these. [400-650 fighters]

Brigade:
six battalions rarely more. [2500-4000 fighting troops] plus at least a company of specialized troops.

There are three basic types of magic as humans have asigned:
(note these are the divisions of magic, the rankings used in by the mages' guild ar a differant subject)

Wizardry:
This is a study of magic, old tomes, words of power, incantaitons, the magical properties of things. The power of this magic is conjured from outside the caster,so anyone can be a wizard, with training. A wizard must remember all the propper hand movements, words, ect. ect. in order to cast. This is the only magic that can be stored as a scroll/totem. Runeshapers fall into this type, though they often require lessstudy than normal.(but than again, you try to carve a rune in combat)
the which/warlock falls under this.

Sorcery:
This type of spell casting gets its power from an outside source, hence source-ery, but not through study, the power is just taken(or given)from an magical 'font' shall we say.
