(Page 2 of 2) The Legend Of Xlorithen by Dean Archer
(3 ratings)
| Each using our powers to add a little to the creation of the world. Lord Benevol and Lady Quiescence entwined themselves, their raw power coming together making the lands and waters, shaping the world as we all saw it, mountains, swamps, forests, towns, villages, everything."
'Lady Calefaction then took over once more'
"Of course this new world was in darkness, blacker than the nights sky. I literally exploded myself. First into many parts, parts which you now call stars that light the night sky, and then into two bigger explosions, the latter of the two the biggest of all, creating the sun. The sun which lights the world though the day, allowing you to go about seeing all that you do. My home too now I might add. The other explosion now your moon, lighting the night sky. Two different views of this world created by moon and sun, two different types of worlds within one created."
'Lady Quiescence speaks for the first time'
"Now with a world lighted, it seemed so quiet. We had created creatures and beings upon this land but they were but stone statues amongst the nature we had created. Such a beautiful land. It was with this I went round to each and every being and creature breathing a part of me into them, breathing the pure essence of life. From this breath they fell into a deep slumber as their bodies turned from stone to living essence."
'Lord Locution awaits her finish before he continues the tale'
"A land created, now filled with life. A life with no sense of purpose, no consciousness, no awareness. Mere zombies to the world if left to awaken as such. It was then I encompassed the world, my powers reaching end to end, filling each with knowledge, the knowledge to live but not know of what had passed. It was how I left them. Ready to awaken and to live in this world, to help it grow, to help it exist."
'Lady Calefaction looked to Lord Locution as he finished picking up the tale'
"What a boring mechanical world it would have been, each living as they should, doing what they were implanted to do, with this I added a spark of free will and curiosity. A spark of wondering what if? And what about?. It was like this we left them, to awaken to the world and live. This is how we left them, our new world to care for, to interfere, to help, to play with."
With that they all rose paying their respects to the monk before wandering into the night, leaving him bewildered, wondering, sitting at his campfire.
"Well now you have heard all that I know. I shall leave you to decide"
With that the monk rises and wanders back into the shadows leaving you to your own thoughts.
As you look after him, it as though he has literally vanished into thin air.
