(Page 2 of 2) The Harmony Of Lunacy by Richard Ridyard
(16 ratings)
| David then goes over to Sarah and checks for a pulse just in case. Not finding one David cries further.
"I don't understand why would anyone want to do this?"
David became obsessed with sarah's rapist and killer and was never the same after that. He admitted himself to a mental institute just a few weeks after Sarah's death. Was it obsession that was to blame? What really had turned David into a mess? Would police find his wife's killer? David certainly didn't believe so. That's what drove him mad wasn't it?
David has been on a range of medication but his state keeps getting worse. He has made no progress and doesn't seem to be in the real world anymore. He seems consumed with something. But with what? His nurse Emma comes in with his latest medication.
"Time to take your medication David." Says Emma. David is oblivious and is just staring at the wall. He then slowly turns to Emma and says "Sarah?"
"No David Sarah is dead, I'm Emma Jones your nurse I'm here with your medication." Says Emma.
"Oh right." Says David sadly. He takes it and Emma smiles.
"That's it. Okay David I'm going now I'll see you soon though." Says Emma. David just looks on blankly. Emma leaves closing the door behind her. David starts to hum the main theme to the opera The Merry Widow.
