As usual, he had two highly trained elite guards, armed with automatic weapons.
It took most of his ninja training for Hotaka to remove the vent without either the guards or Masaki noticing. He pulled the vent up into the shaft and silently placed it beside him. Hotaka now had a clear shot at anyone in the room from his safe vantage point in the shaft. He took out one of his four throwing knives and aimed carefully.

While the bullets pierced and ricocheted all around him, Hotaka snatched out his "eight inch" and dived down towards the guard amidst the hail of bullets.
Hotaka landed on the guard, brought him to the ground with him, and slit his throat. He then stood up slowly, and turned to face Masaki, who was cowering against the wall behind his desk. Hotaka sheathed his dagger, cracked his knuckles, and smiled devilishly.
After mercilessly beating Masaki for several minutes, Hotaka decided he was ready to complete his mission, and move on, he had had his revenge. Hotaka was standing in front of Masaki, who had just barely gotten to his feet, blood dripping from his battered face. Hotaka slowly took out a throwing star, savoring the moment, and threw it.
At the last second, Masaki dived to the ground near the dead guard, grabbed the gun, and aimed it at Hotaka. He knew that he would not have time to pull out another knife before Masaki fired, so he just closed his eyes, and sighed...
