(Page 2 of 2) Dinner by Federico Patané
She stopped dancing and looked at me. At once I became silent and I saw her giggle again, surely I had blushed once more. Then she walked to the edge and began talking. Her voice was soft and sweet. I listened attentively though I didn't understand what she was saying.
Suddenly she stopped and threw me a thoughtful look. I frowned and tried to read her expressions, making my best to understand her. Then she began signaling me with her arms to get closer. I raised my hand and reached for her. She grabbed my hand and turned it around, slowly caressing my palm with her hands. Her touch was very strange, soft and magical in a way a human could never be. Slowly she turned for my finger and laid her tiny head on it.
It was a beautiful sensation. She raised her head and grinned as she met my eyes. Slowly she dropped her head as if to kiss my finger but at the last moment she opened her mouth and took a bite of my finger.
"What the hell?!" I screamed in pain retrieving my hand from her.
I stared at my wounded finger in surprise and then at her face, now covered with blood. She was grinning malevolently. How could this incredible beautiful being have done this? Only when I raised my eyes and saw the golden line of light surrounding the clear I understood. She had flirted with me and lured me into this place.
"Oh crap!" I thought to myself. "I am dinner, ain't I?"
