SUMMARY: A young elven boy travels with his mother and father to Dormire to do some trading there when tragedy strikes. The events of the day will forever change his life and set his life in a new direction.

It was a beautiful day in the realms outside of Dormire. The sun was shinning bright in the sky feeling like a knife had pierced your eyes if you dared look at it for long. The Fel'uns and Nemeirs had been traveling the roads to Dormire now for days on end. They had just crossed over the mountains in the north-east days before and had but a couple of days before passed by some temple ruins. The two Elven artisan families had hired some mercenaries to protect their caravan as they traveled the realm. The party was growing restless after hours of traveling and looked forward to their arrival in Dormire.
"How much further to the clearing do you think?" asked Filien Nemeir. "Not too much further I imagine. Perhaps an hour or so" replied Levas Fel'un in elven. "And then after we cross the clearing there is a lake we spotted last time we made the trip where we can stop and rest for the day. It's a good spot to stop as it is not far from these woods so we can gather plenty of wood for fire." Filien nodded as they were walking beside their wagons full of all sorts of weapons, armor, and little items made by elven hands. Filien was a rather young elf. He had long straight black hair and brown eyes. He had been persuaded to come to Dormire to sell his things by Levas. Levas was an older elf then Filien. He had straight brown hair down to his shoulders and dark brown eyes. Levas looked up at his wife on the horse pulling their wagon of supplies. She was a beautiful elf woman with long blonde hair that went down her back and deep blue eyes. She was holding their son Serysses with one arm and holding the horse steady with the other. Serysses had taken most of his mother's looks. He had blonde hair and blue eyes just like his mother only his hair was straight like his father's hair. Levas looked at them both with much joy and warmth in his heart. Sensing perhaps her husband's eyes on her Ninomeen turned her head catching her love gazing upon her. She smiled back at him and then turned her attention to the trail they were on in the woods.
Levas's attention was pulled away from his family however when he caught glimpse of movement in the woods. He listened for sounds all around him and heard rustling in the forest and the sound of metal bouncing off metal from moving around that seemed not to be coming from his caravan. In quick and urgent elven he said to Filien "Do you hear it?" Filien quickly and in a worried tone replied "yes I hear it. Creatures with arms and armor that do not seem to be our own. Quickly to arms!" Levas yelled to the mercenaries in the front of his caravan in common "Be on your guard! We ha..." Levas's words were interrupted when two arrows struck the two mercenaries on horse back that were leading the caravan. The two were struck in the chest and fell off their horses dead. Levas yelled to everyone "ambush!" It was then that a large group of goblins broke cover from the forest bushes and ran to attack the mercenaries on foot that were in the front of the caravan. Levas looked up into the trees and saw that some goblins had got onto the top of the tree branches and were the ones that had fired the arrows at the two leading the party.
