"And then?"

"Then it seemed like an eternity." The accused responded. "I was hoping to wait until the light went off to come out and back but instead the toaster began moving away from me exposing myself. So I ran."

The crowd gasped once more, a few even cheering to his heroic performance.

"My super speed kicking in again, only the piece of chicken in my back slowed me down. I saw the open socket and made my ran for it when the shoe hit the wall just in front of me. I dodged it just in time to go around it and crawl back in safely."

"That story is interesting." The judge said after a moment. Then he looked at the aide and continued. "Why is he accused of killing 5? There was no one but him in the story."

Roach aide stepped forward and spoke up to the judge.

"Your honor, not only did he gave a bad example but he also bragged to the five now dead roaches that they could not do it. The five went out to imitate 96125. The first was squashed before reaching the stove. The second didn't make it to the edge of the table. The third was squashed on the floor right after landing. The fourth was burned by the toaster that had been turned on and the fifth was forced to ran the other way falling into the sink and being killed in the garbage disposal."

"I see."

The judge stood silent for a while thinking what to make of the situation. He studied the roach with alleged super powers and then to the crowd.

"I find you guilty of your crimes. But there is a way for you to prove your innocence." The judge spoke up grinning malevolently. "If you really have the super powers you say then you will prove yourself innocent and therefore free."

Roach 96125 smiled happily waiting to see what he would have to do. It seemed he would live after all.

"I sentence you to be tied up and be left out in the kitchen floor." The judge said. "If you have the powers you say then you can set yourself free and return here where you will be, once more, welcome and your crimes forgotten."

He swallowed, closed his eyes and sighed. He was very confident about his powers so he stood still while his own peers tied his legs together and carried him outside into the darkness of the kitchen.

Once the others left 96125 fought with all his strength to break free from the ropes but they where too strong for him. He also tried to fly, but it seemed his powers had abandoned him. And then the light went on, too bright and blinding.

The roach heard a loud scream coming from a human at the door that carried a lot of hatred and disgust in it. One moment after, he saw the huge oversized foot descend fast and heavy over him.

Squash.
