Chapter One - For the Record (Part I)

This is Dr. Jeanetta Stokes. This recording is classified Top-Secret by the United World government and all doctor to client privileges are observed. The subject and therapist consider this session private and are the only attendees. If you, the subject, agree to be recorded in this session please answer yes now.

Yes.

I now begin a psychological profile as required by the United World Department of Defense for personnel departing in 6 months or less from A.N.G.E.L. Group Novaya Zemlya Training Facility. Please state your name for the record.

Bullsnake Jones.

I need you to state your full name.

That is my full name.

You don't have a middle name?

No.

I'm sorry, have we discussed this before? I don't remember you telling me that you don't have a middle name.

As a matter of fact, I don't think we have.

But I distinctively remember asking you for your full name in every session prior to this one.

Sure?

Absolutely.

Well, maybe I said my name like this, Bull Snake Jones.

I can't believe that you've never mentioned that to me.

Lots of people don't have middle names. Some people have four or five names. It's not really a big deal.

I have to stop the tape.

Why?

Because Snake, we've done the same introduction how many times? And in none of them do I uncover the fact that you don't have a middle name. How's that going to make me look?

I thought this was going to be about me.

What's my middle name Snake?

Elizabeth.

Exactly. It's always about you.

I don't get it.

I'm going to restart the tape. This is Dr. Jeanetta Stokes. This recording is classified Top-Secret by the United World government and all doctors to client privileges are observed. The subject and therapist consider this session private and are the only attendees. If you, the subject, agree to be recorded in this session please answer yes now.

Yes.

Bullsnake Jones.

Mr. Jones, because you were called away prior to our last session I've scheduled this session for two hours.

Great.

In our last session we began to touch on the subject of your mother and father. I remember that you expressed some pain in this area. Can you tell me why?

No.

Then why don't you start at your childhood and work your way to the present, allowing whatever thoughts you have to fall into place.

Chapter Two - Familiar Faces in Strange Places

Yeah. Back in 2098 I joined the United World Forces for the first time as a cadet in the Flight Officer Training Corps.
