A Cache of Coins
All books are valuable, but for me there is always that certain one. It is like a bunch of old coins, each from a different era and nation. They are all valuable, in their own way. These coins have their own unique style and feel that went into their construction. These trinkets all have different meanings for people, and for everyone alive there is some for them. In that pile of coins I find one that really shines with my name written all over it.
I really think in writing you can find something that you will enjoy. There are so many thousands, no make that millions of different works circulating out there. When I go to a book store I feel like I am digging through a pile of rare coins. Some are beautiful, but have no taste to them. Other coins are old, but still have the emotion their forger put into them. As I dig through the gold, I finally see that one book I want. Like a shimmering pot of gold, it stands out from the rest and catches my attention. I am drawn to it like a moth to a flame.
Much of who I am is thanks to books. From my textbooks at school to the light novels I read at home, reading improves my life. From these novels and my teachers I learn how to write, and make lavish tapestries of words, metaphors, and figurative language. This useful skill helps me on essays, reports, and my own personal stories. Without writing, I would be the man I am today.
