      my favorite SF Author is L Niven. i liked his 'Ringworld.' i used to like F Herbert\'Dune' though not so much these-days .... i like J Pournelle, and Ursula LeGuin, too. and A C Clarke. i dont get to read a lot these days kronides, as i have strong Diabetes, and my left-eye is not too-good.

      i liked Ursula LeGuin's: 'The Dispossessed' though;

      i like: 'Hard SF' Literature. [defined as: category of science fiction characterised by an emphasis on scientific or technical detail, or on scientific accuracy, or on both.]

      ... generally im "a geek" for anythin' SF _ [Trekky, StarGate SG-1, The Day The Earth Stood Still. u know, iv never seen any of the StarWars !!]
      R A Heinlein is a "master" as well. though he's dead now _ he's another favorite. not really into: Harry Potter, & Lord Of The Rings ! iv read all of the Tolkien-books i think ..

      Hi, thanks for the message and the welcome. Yes, I'm new here, and the forums are replete with good information from what I have seen.

      Bathory had a two album duology (projected to be 4 albums, but the guy died in 2004) based on Norse mythology called Nordland I and Nordland II. This immediately occurred to me when you mentioned an album duology that had something to do with the cold north, I guess you can see why.

      Cheers mate

      For music? Nope, sorry. The band is an American band called Kamelot, and the albums are Epica and The Black Halo. They are supposed to based on the medieval legend of Faust, though I'm not familiar with the legend other than by name and, as my work is inspired by these 2 albums, I should probably become acquainted with Faust, lol.

      Thanks for asking though! I am not familiar with a band called Bathory. If my description made you think of them, then I'll have to check them out. Thanks again! Oh, and I see you're new to the forum (or, at least, just joined). Welcome!!! It's a great place!
