Edward Rosen? No, I don't know who that is. It is on the stories sub forum of Writing in this web site. It is called "He ain't heavy, he's big brother.

I hope I did that right. It is just a story, my grammar and punctuation kind of suck, but it is not bad for someone with a 6th grade education! Talk to you later.

That makes great sense, if one is able to move mass with ones mind, then that would be part of ones sensory ability as well. I think you are going to enter the picture through a portal, coming in to the world because of the instability of that worlds fabric, the odd instability draws you because it is interesting. You will be quite hard core. On a new note, I enjoyed the WTC experiment, I caught the link on your page here, very well done.

The Art of War, by Sun Tzu. Still required reading to this day in Officers Candidate School. Von Clausewitz on war is another. It has been a while for me, since I have read either.

The Chinese, and Japanese as well, have a better idea of the duality of all things than most European countries. They even have a specific word for the face you wear in public, and the face you wear in private. I am only cold logic when enraged. i know that sounds contradictory, but it is what it is. The rest of the time my mind is a roil. I managed to get that you tube link to work. I will watch the episode this weekend. I saw Other Spock. How do you wish your character? I put off the intro so I could check with you. Let us build a proper being.

Okay, here is an idea for your character, we can tweak it around if you like. I see a Spock-like guy, with no master, no commander, a scientist unencumbered by emotion. You could be an interdimensional "collector", but with the name Psikeyhackr, you have to have telekinetic ability as well as telepathic abilities. You travel alone in dimensions where armies are scared to go, so you have to have a hard core edge. Here it is, spiked balls(except the ball part is about one inch in diameter with two inch spikes around the middle) and you power them with your mind. You have eight, four for each hand, and you wipe the floor with anything that messes with your research and collecting of specimens and artifacts. Give me your opinion, and we can touch it up. I am easy! I will try to watch the youtube. And I agree that they portrayed Spock as an indentured servant for the most part. I always wanted him to kick Kirk off a cliff. And knock Bones into a pile of scrapple.

The story is on the stories sub forum here. He ain't heavy, he's big brother. I am not selling it, just a fun write. It is about different dimensions, and the ultimate in government control. You are pretty intelligent, so I hope you don't figure out the twist from what I just typed. You will get credit for your name because every one here knows you. Spock from Mirror, Mirror? I missed that episode. I had no television as a child or adolescent. Tell me the gist, and I can paint or taint your character as you wish.

Hey there! Would you like to be a character in a story I am writing? You can be good, bad, super natural, alien, whatever you want. Psikeyhackr, that name would be good for an interrogator, or the operator of a partially organic battle vehicle... All kind of possibilities. Let me know.

I am not a writer and never wanted to be one. I have been working on a sci-fi project though.

There are hundreds of science fiction works in Project Gutenberg and most of them are not good. In fact the database of PG is so bad you can't even find a lot of the SF by searching on "science fiction".

But I have a problem with this so called SFF community. There is Science Fiction and there is Fantasy and there are many works in the gray area between. But not everyone fails to care about the difference between the two. I read LotR and saw the movies. I have wondered why I bothered reading the books. If the movies had been out back then I certainly would not have read the books. I don't consider Star Trek books worth reading even though I regard them as sci-fi.

The writing and the science are separate characteristics. I consider Lois McMaster Bujold to be a better writer than Arthur C. Clarke. But ACC is a better SCIENCE fiction writer than LMB. So we will keep arguing as long as people don't understand what I mean by those distinctions.

But that DOES NOT MEAN I object to people liking Fantasy. Whatever floats your boat, we just don't all have ride in the same boat. But we don't have to be shooting canons or phasers at each other either.

If the recent stuff is bad, then you make some stuff that you would consider "good" and what impresses others. With prominent movies such as LotR and Avatar giving much more credibility to sff, I think there's certainly a new niche that can be exploited by aspiring writers. What this may be, I don't know, but I'll take a swing at what I think the sff community needs to become refreshed. A big task, but I'm sure there are others taking it up as well.
