Window, (or should I call you Zachariah?) I do remember seeing that cover and I do remember thinking to myself "I'm staring at the eye and drooling..." so yes, it works well as a cover. I would not change a thing, it's too interesting. As for the story itself, you are in my que behind my other friend and fellow writer, John. :) I'm looking forward to it.

Hey, send me stuff or message me when you post your work, so I can check it out.

Good afternoon from the Mountain Time Zone, Window Bar. Here's a link to my newer portfolio. This does not contain the graphical design work (yet) as I need a larger format scanner. But there is concept work. http://www.behance.net/a_lynn

      Hey Window,
I took down the portfolio with the intentions of rebuilding it and including my animations. I'll be scanning and uploading here soon, and I'll keep you posted. :) Thanks for the patience.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Definitely up for link exchange and any reviews.
I have a couple of flash fictions posted on my site currently, and I am working on a short story that will be posted once it's done. I have a novel I'm working on, but I haven't released any of it online, but I plan to have the first two chapters posted as a teaser soon.

My site is listed here http://lynnderiso.wordpress.com/

Just finished SpiritThorn and posted a review at Amazon. Impressive job. A grand story told simply.

Absolutely! I guarantee that by the time my novel is fully written and I've checked and re-checked my work a few times, you'll still find plenty to point out. :)

Anytime! :) Unfortunately, with webpages, typos are bound to happen. I sent a friend the first chapter of what I'm writing a while back. Even though I went through with spell-check, then re-read the chapter a few more times to catch mistakes spell-check did not catch, or occasionally created, she still found plenty. Thank goodness for editors and friends that don't mind pointing out typos! :D

I'm on Chapter 10 now, and there is absolutely nothing that can keep me from finishing Spirit Thorn. It takes some seriously good storytelling on the author's part for me to ever say that. I've been known to stop reading mid-book when the author wasn't up to par. :)

      Hey B,

I bought/downloaded your novel. I put the slash because it was free at the time even though I'd planned on paying the $2.99 to make sure that when I reviewed it the review has the "Amazon Verified Purchase" thing on it for extra credibility. Do you know if it will have that even though I picked it up for free? I've got a few things to tie up and then I'll be able to read and review your work. I couldn't resist checking it out a little and was pleased to find it pacey, and that your writing style is risk and vivid. Well done so far.

I'm in the middle of Chap. 3 of Spirit Thorn now. :) There's a few typos (Chap. 3 pg. 7: But [t]hen they disappeared), but generally speaking, it's pretty good. I'm certainly enjoying it. Heh, I think Kes-trelle and Braden would love my third album, seeing as it's music and the theme is time (1. beginning, 2. Roman holiday that honors Saturn, god of time, 3. end; termination). I wouldn't know what to do with a guitar, but when it comes to sculpting sound waves as if they were clay... In any case, I'll likely read it twice-once for the pure enjoyment and the second time to take note of the typos for you while enjoying it again. FYI, I LOVE the poetry and I've always loved when a storyline could incorporate REAL physics and art of any sort.

I apologize for taking so long in reading Spirit Thorn. I can do about 6 pages at a pop on the computer before I get eyes like boiled eggs. Your poetry is quite good, too, by the way. My printer is a crapper and only gets about 40-50 pages per cartridge. And the black ink is 24.95!!! So I am moving slow, but steady. It really is a good book!

I guess? I could resend, if you want. I just disagree strongly with the cranky guy and don't see how the dickens he managed to skew that one sentence into something to get huffy over.

Carlyle -- I'll watch for yours as well. Because the book is currently a promotional freebie at Amazon, you needn't limit yourself to free sampling--the whole book is gratis, but only in the U.S. If you're outside the U.S., you can get a free Kindle-compatible download from Smashwords.com, just type coupon code NH85K into the coupon box on the download screen.

Take care, and thanks again for taking the time to reflect on the issues involved. I have indeed chosen to sit this one out, rather than blow on the coals.

I'm glad to hear you found my website appealing as I did yours and my co-author and I thank you for the fine compliments on our prose. Direct and elegant is exactly what we were striving for.

I downloaded the sample of your novel onto my Kindle and plan to get started on it soon.

The book is scheduled for release on 10-17-11. Counting the days . . .

Hey! I just went to your "Spirit Thorn" site. Did you write that? I just started reading it, and I enjoy the style. The words flow, and that is important to me in a book. Monsters are good too!
