Is it just me or does there seem to be
    a complete lack of information
on the web for this superb series of
books. Amazon mentions there is a book
seven coming up but I can't
find any detail anywhere. Book 6
was a disappointing ending so book seven
would be a great addition. Has anyone
heard any more or I'm I the only one
    reading these books!?

What! Book six? I thought there were only 3 books to this series! Like you I enjoyed the books and it seems strange that it gets so little attention. Man I gotta go check Amazon for books by Tilley.

ok 1st it seems that nobody has answered this in a looooonng time.
either a you've gone or b your still waiting for an update.
Long, long ago a friend told me about a series, it was in a post apoc future with underground military dudes, overground magic mutants and mad feudal Jap Samuri warriors.
To hell with that, was my reply, sounds stupid- then I read it...
    Damn under-rated like u say.
As to a 7- bring it on! Yes, I felt after reading 6 books that I needed a little closure, in fact the ending enraged me to be blunt about it. I heard a rumour from some guy I met somewhere that he was dead, and if it's true then it's a shame as the man had extreme talent.
Then again if Amazon sed so it's gotta be true- (sark sark)

It has been a long time.
Every now and again I check the book
shops to see if book seven has magically appeared but no joy as yet. I'd hate to think
Patrick died and left us with an
    incomplete epic series.

I reread the series again recently and
it brought back to me just what a superb
piece of writing they are. I'll have a look around the web again and see if I can dig anything up.

Hopefully it won't be as long again before
    I come back with something!!

Good to talk to some fellow Amtrack fans.
    Keep the faith.

    Just found some info

He's English and was born in 1928.
That's pushing 72,73 so you may well be right
    about his untimely demise.

You may already know this, but maybe not... Patrick Tilley is alive and well. He is writing book 7 now, which will be called "Ghost Rider". More interesting revelation is that "Ghost Rider" is none other than a certain Mr. Steve Brickman... seems old Steve only had a near-death experience and only Roz died. Also, apparently the Talisman has yet to be born...

Yet to be born? That is strange because there was an epilogue at the end of book 6 where Cadillac was telling the story of the War of a Thousand Suns to the children of the clan when he noticed that the daughter of Roz (called Snowraven) had turned a blade of grass green which something only the Talisman could do.

True, but the books are written from a very standoffish viewpoint (nope, I don't know the technical term). There are a lot of comments by the author directly to the readers and a lot of foreshadowing, so jumping around like this is going to cause no problems.

What I want to know is:

1)If he survived, why, 20 months on, do Cadillac and Clearwater still think he's dead?

2)How did he survive three shots to the chest at point-blank range?

I was really looking forward to see how the birth-pains Roz suffered would affect him. The real question is, if he survived, which side is he on? Presumably the only nation with the ability to restore his health is the Federation, and since his fleeing was prompted by the assasination attempt, he would be able to claim that he was still on their side (though Kalstrom would probably try to have him killed).

Anyway, finding that book 6 was the last in the series so far and had no real conclusion left me seriously irritated. I look forward to the mythical book 7.
