So I know that this is a shot in the dark but here it goes. I'm looking for the title of a book that came out back in the late 80s or early 90s about these people who had special powers but could only use them via special "nodes" of energy that could be found in the earth. They could pull power from these nodes. I believe that they all had different powers. I read it years ago and just now thought about it again. If you this rings a bell or you can point me in the right direction, please let me know!

    Thanks,
    Anthony

Isaac Asimov uses this technology in Foundation And Earth, but it was only mentioned in passing and didn't play a major role.

Zelazny's character Francis Sandow from Isle of the Dead (1969) taps energy from 'power-pulls' that are location-based. Does this help?

IIRC, Zelazny's Jack of Shadows featured this concept. Jack was different in that his point of power was any shadow, rather than a fixed location.
