I figured we needed a place to just chat about future releases and games catching your eye. For me personally the game I want to get my hands on is Prey. It's unlike any fps I've ever seen, the weaponry, levels and genre innovations are unique, it all looks stunning and there's some serious enemy AI gone into the mix by all accounts. You can download a stunning minute long trailer here: http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/downloads/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=36999&subsectionid=1624

    Enjoy :D :D

Currently looking forward to a lot of games:

Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy) - An adventure/thriller.. it's a kind of interactive movie thriller.. Supposed to be a whole new kind of adventure game.

Shadow of the Colossus - Also an adventure game, but completely different type..

Resident Evil IV (for ps2) - This amazing horror/adventure/action game that is already available for GC but now also coming to PS2..

Burnout Revenge - Faster, more action, better graphics, more fun!

Black - FPS from the makers of the burnout series..

Okami - Beautiful (artistic) looking japanese adventure game..

These are just a couple of the games I'm looking forward to.. Can't wait 'till end of the year when the first of the next-gen consoles arrives (xbox360) ;)

I'm mainly waiting on a few:

Black & White 2 - the sffworld news story here

Shadow of the Colossus - It's only through a friend of mine that I heard about this game, but from what he's told me and what I've seen it looks amazing!

Final Fantasy XII - Whenever it may come....

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 - a small sffworld news story here

    Nice idea, Kater :)

If PoP is anywhere near as good as GoW I'd be very pleased.. God of War is the best game I've played in ages!

Absolutely at the top of my list, the trailer looks insanely good - all the new additions like being able to fly from your carrier to the enemy's, get out and just start fighting is staggering. Throw in being able to play as Jedi or Sith, more levels, the chance to kill Anakin (hopefully in Ep 1) and I can't wait.

Also waiting on Spore for PC, looks like a life-consuming game and something I will get round to writing an article on sometime in the near future.

Black and Okami are great calls, also The Warriors, SSX on Tour (although I wasn't a huge fan of 3), STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, Shadow of the Colossus and Resi 4 - it looks like being an expensive lead up to Xbox 360 :D

I don't know if it's coming to NA on the DS, but I hope to someday download Nintendo's Jump Superstars onto Revolution. It's like Smash Bros. only with characters from a good half of the anime industry (as in various titles from Shonen Jump like Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, Dragonball, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure etc)

I only mentioned the games for the ps2 console earlier, but ofcourse there are some next-gen games I'm eagerly awaiting. Games that I'm nearly certain to pick up when xbox360 launches are:

    - Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
    - Kameo: Elements of Power

The three big ones for me right now are definitely Civilization 4, Neverwinter Nights 2, and Heroes of Might and Magic 5.

Some of these have been put up already but...

-Shadow of the Colossus (can't wait!)
    -next-gen Grand Theft Auto (hehehe)
    -next-gen Timesplitters
    -Final Fantasy XII
-King Kong (this one surprised me)
-the first fully VR game (how long will I have to wait?)

There are more but I'm stuck for ideas right now.

I'd love to play a proper vr game(if i'm stil alive), but also what I think would be great is a free roaming rpg set in a vast map (to the same theme but bigger than monster hunter's)With no set storyline. the idea is that you pick a theme or a sort of guideline but with no set objectives, you create your own with what you choose to do with the game e.g if you pick a theme where for example there might be one main ruler you may choose to go on an all out vendetta to overthrow him/her/it or mabye join him/her/it. I think that this would be great because there would be no end to the game. I no that it is seriously doubtful that this would ever happen but I think it may be possible to be made.

    Real games:pSP

    metal gear acid-wow!
    burnout legends-fun
    battlefront 2-legendary
    pro 5

and i'm sure there's loads more.

You're making me feel guilty, Dean! I haven't played Monster Hunter in quite some time and I'm still on the level four missions. I'll get back into it soon, I hope.

Oh, and we have a place for inventing new games; it's here (be good to get that up and going again). Check it out (cool idea, kinda similar to one of the ones I put up).

Games I'm currently looking forward to...

Fahrenheit - the demo was great fun, and from what I've read the full game is superb. Although whether you can describe is as a 'game' is a whole other debate. I'm immediately interested in anything that improves the writing/narrative standard of computer games, though (and, god knows, it needs improving). Only got one more week to wait, which is rather exciting!

Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - it's Elder Scrolls. It looks like Morrowind with the rubbishy bits taken out or fixed, and the amazing bits made even more incredible. Oh, and it also has Patrick Stewart's voice. Need I say more?

Half Life 2: Aftermath/episodes - Aftermath and the supposed 'every 3 months' sequel 'episodes' have the potential to be every bit as good as the main game. The concept of releasing new episodes in the story every 3 months-or-so intrigues me - the idea of much shorter gameplay, but far more focused and of higher quality and emotion, is one that I've been advocating for years now. Looks like Valve can finally start moving down the road, thanks to Steam.

X3 - X2 was a near-masterpiece, but nobbled by appalling cutscenes, a bizarre menu system and a few rough edges. Hopefully X3 will retain all the greatness while fixing everything else.
