In the Renshai i didn't really like Colbey... he was too arrogant for me. I liked Rache though, the one who couldn't use his legs and still was the 2nd best swordsman in the world.

    Feist's books:

Pug, Tomas, Macros (could you guess), Jimmy the Hand, Arutha, Martin, Erik von Darkmoor, Miranda, Nakor.... too many to name so I'll quit here.

    Empire Books:

Hokanu, Kamatsu, Arakasi, Kevin, and Chumaka

    Fionavar Tapestry:

Diarmuid, Torc, Levon, Kimberly, Paul and Arthur

    David Gemmel:

    Waylander and Druss

    David Eddings:

    Belgarion, Belgarath, Polgara, and Silk

    Other characters I liked:

Conan, Seoman Snowlock, Miriamele, Zedd, Most of the characters in Lloyd Alexander's Prydain series although its been so long that I've forgotten their names. Add the characters from the Chronicles of Narnia to that too.

Saltheart was good, but I liked Bannor a bit more in the first chronicles.
Which I am rereading at the moment - I'd forgotten how painful Thomas Covenant could be to others.

Oh Yeah - Add Traithe in the wars of light and shadow to my list, and even though it is sf, Duncan Idaho from Dune is my favourite character ever.
