    Hi all,

With the holidays and my gigging schedule in full swing I failed to realize we hadn't picked a February book for fantasy yet. So it's time to pick one, and quick. Here's the rules:

    1. Everyone can nominate one book and second a reasonably small number of other books.
    2. Books must be available new in US and UK (I just check the two Amazons for this). They should also be in a format other than hardcover, so as to keep costs down.
    3. Books must be standalone or book 1 in a series (usually not a problem in SF).
    4. They can't have been book club books before. The nearly complete list of previous discussions can be found here.

I'll nominate a book I've had for a bit but haven't read yet:

Well of Sorrows by Benjamin Tate

I was gonna say Redick's Ruling Sea, but it has to be book One in a series, right?

Yup, and the first The Red Wolf Conspiracy is the current Fantasy BOTM, plus we have a rule in place to have a certain amount of time (I think six months) for an author's repeat appearance.

Sorry to unleash the big kibosh.:(

I could do Well of Sorrows. It's reviews seem to be universally positive, and it looks like something I'd like. Since we're short on time for picking, let's say if no one gives a reason it shouldn't be picked that we'll go with it...

Just so we're clear, it looks like Well of Sorrows is definitely the February book.

Cool. I'll bump it up my queue. Hopefully, it will be more than the two of us discussing the book.

Alas, it is not on Kindle and due to financial constraints and Borders closing down in NZ (the only store that actually had a good fantasy range) I'm only buying Kindle books at present.

It does look good though. :( I'm putting it on my wish list.

I'll try to participate too, I've got the book lying around somewhere.

Here's the kindle edition (unless there are regional barriers I'm not aware of?):

    http://www.amazon.com/Well-of-Sorro...e_1_kin?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326625464&sr=1-3

And while looking this up, I've just found out that Benjamin Tate is in reality Joshua Palmatier. Tsk tsk...

Yeah, that's sort of an open secret. Why the "Tsk tsk?"

Better yet, lets hold of that answer until the Discussion thread opens.;)

For now I'm on board as well. It's been a while for me and the book club. It may turn out that I won't have the time, but I think I'll be fine.

ETA - oh 'not available in your region blah blah.'

Could someone please explain how to do the IP address change if they know?
