    Caballein misain ye

I know you all want to know what books I brought today so here ya go:
    • American Gods - Neil Gaiman
    • The Earthsea Quartet - Ursual Le Guin
    • Knights Dawn - Kim Hunter

I had intended to get "Hero's Die" but they only had "Blade of Tyshalle" so I have to wait a few weeks while they order it. The bookstore was a nice little speciality scifi/fantasy place called PulpFiction. A great range of books that usually arn't available from aussie bookstores.

So what did you just buy???

    Good god I speelt bought wrong:p .

Ah. American Gods. I really liked that one. Awesome book.

But as for buying books, I can only afford a few a month, so I get everything from the library.

    -The Physician by N.Gordon
    -Indian Wars by R. Utley

None of which are Fantasy so they probably don't apply but you asked :)

Currently reading: I'm half way through Eye of the World.

I've been reading this forum for quite a while now (mainly for recommendations on what to read next) and thought it about time I registered and started posting :)

Anyway, my 2 most recent purchases are:

    • The Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant - Stephen Donaldson

My birthday was in June and I received $65 in gift cards between two bookstores!!! From the first store I bought:

    Kingdom of Cages by Zettel
    Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
    Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds
The Dark Glory War by Stackpole

From the second store I bought:

    The Scar by China Mieville
Contacting Aliens by Brin & Lenagh

Obviously, this is the most books I've ever bought at once (and probably will be for many years). What made it even better was the first store had a really good sale going on. Before that I think the most books I bought at once was two.

Sorry, I realize that some of the books above aren't in the fantasy genre.

I'm trying not to buy books b/c I'm saving money for my wedding, but I just can't help myself.

    Most recent purchases:

Summers at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn (for a book club). Very pathetic book imo.

The Waterborn by J. Gregory Keyes-- Very good writing, cool plot, unique world. I can't figure out why I can't get into it.

The Glasswright's Journeyman by Mindy L. Klasky--Bought it b/c I've read the others and want to like them. Haven't had a chance to open this one yet

I just bought Enchanter by Sara Douglass. I'm hoping it will be an interesting book as I am running out of books to choose from in the rather small book section here on post!

Amusingly the only complete series, or rather all the books in the series published to date, they offer is the Wheel of Time. :D

Glad to see you going for Stover's books Caldazar, don't think you'll be disappointed.

    Last books I bought

A couple Star Wars: The New Jedi Order books, Zelazny's Lord of Light, A Philip K. Dick omnibus, Erikson's first 2 books (2nd book wasn't as good as the first, but still a Pretty Good Book), won a signed copy of Swanwick's Bones of the Earth

Will be picking up Mieville's The Scar at the book-signing next week.

    Last two I bought:

    American Gods - Neil Gaiman
Lost in a good Book - Jasper Fforde

I am always trying not to buy new books, but to read some from my big fat pile of books. It looks like I am not very successful at that.
Oh, and I got some twenty books from a friend and my working place . . . :D

I've been on a book buying spree...from the uk, I have coming:

Wizardborn (in ppb) by David Farland

The Windsingers, The Limbreth Gates and Luck of the Wheels by Megan Lindholm (aka Robin Hobb...I already have book 1 Harpy's Flight)

When Demons Walk (used copy) by Patricia Briggs

    From the US:

Isle of Battles (preorder) by Sean Russell

The Golden Witchbreed by Mary Gentle (used)

And, soon to be ordered from Australia:

The Golden Fool by Robin Hobb (because it comes out there before here)

The Circle of Nine by Josephine Pennicott

I am also toying with ordering the new Juliet Marillier book at the time I order the other Australian books.

Whew...now to find time to read all of it!

Umm......Talaith........I'm assuming you already have BattleAxe, which is the first of the series?? (Or I think it's called Wayfarer's Redemption in the US). Enchanter is actually the second in a most excellent series. :D I have been known to rave about Sara Douglass ad nauseum to everyone's delight, I'm sure. :D

Tragically, who ever orders book for this post (a remote air base in South Korea) only orders Books 1, 2, and 4 for series of at least 5 books or only Book 2 for series of less than 5 books. Well, okay, there are slight variations on the 5 or more theme.

The only complete series (in fantasy and science fiction) they have is the Wheel of Time. Which I've read through twice since I've been here.

Anyway, I was feeling desperate for a book to read and I saw a post or two here mentioning Sara Douglass wrote good stories so I grabbed the only one they had. It is a good book so far - no doubt it will be better once I can get the first one! Only five weeks left of this tour...:D

I'm new, so feel free to rave away e-Morgana! :D

Do you mean Child of Prophecy or the really new book of hers, the first book in a series that will come out in August? I was really interested in that one and was thinking of ways to get it here because it doesn't come to the UK and Europe till early 2003. How did you order?

I think it's called Wolfskin, first book in the Saga of the Light Isles.
