This is an excellent story of a starving liberal arts major in a bleak future that values only goods and actions that are considered useful. It was very depressing, though also felt very real and relatable. Has anyone else read it?

It predicted Fax machines? set in 1963. An interesting read. :)

It was not published in Verne life time because his publisher thought it too preposterous .
