    Hello Writers,

Here's the thread. You know what to do.

    Now, go write.

(Okay, for those of you who don't know...

We are here for you! If you would like to finish editing that umpteenth draft of your novel, or get in an extra 20k of words this month, post your goals and we'll offer our support. Check in every day after you've made some progress towards your goal and we'll keep track of it for you on a nifty graph.)

    Something new this month...A PRIZE!

What on earth would I come up with for a prize? Well, that's for us all to find out on September 30th! The participant that makes the most headway this month and/or overcomes the most arduous of circumstances to reach their goals, will win.

Okay, here it goes. I only have one goal this month: finish the re-write on my WiP.

My WIP is at 29,500 words right now, the vast majority of which is dialogue, with some narration. I think I will have the story wrapped up at around 50,000 words. I will then write another 20,000 words devoted to world-building and description (where it is necessary), stuff I skipped while writing--I tend to do most of the plot through dialogue it seems. At least I don't suffer from over-describing and over-explaining!

But on topic, my goal is to write 20,500 words in September, and finish the essential storyline of my novel. At least I won't have any heavy grading to do until October...

Right I'm in! I want to formally complete my outline and get stuck into the first draft of my new WIP. I'll shoot for 15,000 words, which will probably include a flash fiction entry.

I fell flat on my face last month, unfortunately, and this month will probably be worse. I know I said I'd sit out altogether but I like getting everyone's updates! So I'm going to keep it simple:

    1) Enter September flash contest
    2) Finish and submit August-September short story
    3) Write something for this
    4) Resist the urge to elope

I'm definitely going to jump into it this month. However, my only thought at the moment is "I'm moving! I'm moving!" as I am moving into my new apartment this weekend. Yay!

(You have no idea how happy I am, I've been sounding like a broken record--seriously--for the last week and a half. I think my friends are all ready to rush over and help me move just so I'll shut up, lol)

Anyways, I'll get back to you on my goals once I have another coherent thought.

my goal is to try to get back on track. Never seem to be able to do so, with family, work and now new schedule for my soon to be 5 year old son and kindergarden. I just seem not to have energy or time to write. But going to try to solve that little problem this month.

Goals: 1. finish writing new beginning for one of my books
    2. Work of final editing project that has been on hold for 2 months
    3. Find the inspiration and write a FF for this month.

This is similar to how I write :)

I will go with my usual monthly goal of 40 pages/10,000 words. I expect September to be a busy month and it's highly unlikely I'll reach my goal, but I'd rather set the bar too high than too low.

One step at a time, Pookie and Robotosaur - you can do it!

I'm gonna be playing with the graphs and see if there's not a better way to represent our progress on tasks that are not word count oriented.

Glad to see us all plugging away.

For the first of what is hopefully, several subsequent months to come, I'd like to join in on the fun.

1.) Complete final rewrite of novel
2.) submit to publishers and reviewers
3.) Write 10,000 words between next 2 manuscripts
4.) Kick *ss and take names

I'd like to finally get the ideas that have been swimming in my head for the past couple years down on paper. I've always managed to find other 'priorities', but it's time for me to get past that "I can't do it! I suck at this!" attitude and write like I want to.

My goals, and I'll keep them simple for now, as part of a larger goal:

    1) Complete a loose outline of plot.
    2) Write 10,000 words towards a first draft.
    3) Submit a FF entry.
    4) The important one: don't stop.

I'm going to go for a total word count of 3,000 words this month.

I don't know how well I did last month, but in the end, my total goal for the month was not what kept me writing. In the end, it was more my intention to write at least 100 words a day (not including weekends, which I like to keep free from writing) that kept me so focused. With the exception of last week, I think I managed to keep that up very well.

So far this month, I'm still managing to keep to my goal: 184 words today

Ohh Robotosaur... who with? 56 days to go til my wedding but we're pretty sorted so not stressing yet even though our dance instructor is... unique.

    Good luck all.

My wonderful and supportive fiance, who is helpfully trading off bouts of crippling anxiety with me. Right now it's his turn so I can focus long enough to jot down some flash fiction ideas. Around 5AM tomorrow I suspect it'll be my turn again. :)

Good luck with your continued planning! We're 16 days away and in great shape but it's still enormously nerve-wracking and eating up so much brain real estate. What am I not remembering to remember?
