I can't do three. I could do a top ten list, but any less than that and I'll have too much trouble deciding which ones to pick.

Is this console games or PC too?

My top 3 PS games are...

    1. The Resident Evil series. Like living a George a Romero movie.

    2. The Tekken Series. I love good combat games.

    3. Tenchu. I'm a big fan of games with a "stealth" aspect.

I'll have to add a No. 4. The Championship Manager series. I've wasted so many hours on those games.

Of course! Those damned football manager games!
I spent weeks bringing lowly conference sides up the ranks and eventually into Europe.
I loved SWOS (sensible World of Soccer) on the Commodore Amiga. Especially when you had finally created an invincible squad of players and all the big clubs from around the world like Ac Milan or Real Madrid would offer you the manager's position at their club.

    1. Doom series
2.Red Alert (RA 1 that is; red alert 2 wasn't so good)
    3. Tie between Unreal (the original, as above), Sensible Soccer and Champ Manager.

    That is for PC games.

Sensi was cool, man. The weird 2D visuals, the music and, my favourite part, picking up players for about 100k and seeing them rocket to £8million in a couple of seasons. And it was amazing how you could trawl through, for example, the Ecuador league for bargain buys.

The only console I have owned is the NES original. And whatever people say, that is still cool. Top game - Super Mario Brothers. Simply quality.

    Console:

    1. Shenmue II
    2. Shenmue
    3. Halo

I think those are the only games I've ever played a lot on consoles.

    PC:

    1. Half-Life
    2. Fallout 2
    3. Duke Nukem 3D

For the PC I'd have to say in no particular order as they are completely different types of game...

The "Total War" series. Probably the best RTS games ever made.

The Hitman series. Like "Tenchu" with guns.

Severance Blade of Darkness. There's just nothing else quite like it.

    1. Final Fantasy 7

    2. Final Fantasy Tactics

    Here's 3:

Final Fantasy IV (US FF2) - SNES
    Mike Tyson's Punchout - NES
    Uncharted Waters - PC/SNES

Streetfighter II (SNES) - Before this what fighting games of any note were there aside from the original Streetfighter?
    Legend of Zelda (NES)
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
Romance of the Three Kingdoms II (PC/SNES)
    Civilization II (PC)
Betrayal at Krondor (PC) - Should be of special interest to fantasy fans of Raymond Feist.
    Secret of Mana (SNES)
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? (PC)

as well as the Dragon Warrior and Breath of Fire series

    are others I've enjoyed tremendously.

Romance of the 3 Kingdoms is turbo-sweet, but you need other players to enjoy it's full glory. I've never seen a game that so perfectly brings out each player's personality. (except for maybe Street Fighter 3)

Woohoo, so it's not just me! Doom has achieved a rare distinction in the computer world in that it never grows old. Sure, graphics have come on a long way in the last 10 years, but for game-play it's the best. Not to mention it runs perfectly smoothly with not bugs\glitches on almost any computer.

I add Civilisation 2 and 3 to my list.
