Has anyone read a books by either of these authors?

Pierce wrote the Darkangel trilogy which I'm now trying to asses as worth a try and Chant wrote Grey mane of Morning, Red moon Black mountain and "when Voiha wakes"

Read both! And liked both. Joy chant's RED MOON, BLACK MOUNTAIN should be considered a children's classic; in fact I think it was pretty much regarded so when I first read it in the 70's. The scene where they approach tower of Bannawg (I think that was it's name but I don't have a copy) and heard the eerie shrieking through countless wind funnels has always stayed with me due to its hauntingness...My biggest complaint was the ending, a bit too much like 'and then I woke up'

I saw that Red moon black mountain is in the same world as Grey mane of morning. But the latter appealed to more at first due to its marvellous title and after checking it out it seemed the work I'd be most interested in. May read the other one if I like GROM.

What did you think of the Darkangel books then?

Mithfânion, I think it'd be worth your while to track down Red Moon and Black Mountain . It's easily Chant's best book. I found The Grey Mane of Morning to be somewhat disappointing and her The High Kings to be even more so. But RMBM rocks - great YA book.

Hi :) I have read the dark angel trilogy and loved it! The ending made me sad though. I have never heard of Joy Chant before but I will be sure to seek it out and read it!
