:D Waterstones or WHSmiths!? lol. my 2 have been from Waterstones- the books are always in better condition. The English cover just look....more...sophisticated...as if they don't need to be flashy on the outside- it's what is on the inside what really counts. Oh god- i'll be giving my books names soon!argh!i'm going mad!:D oh. already am. ah well.:D

all the bookcovers for the Pellinor series so far are really good in my opinion...The Naming one is really surreal in terms of perspective, and mixing photography with computer generated/traditional drawing...It would be super awesome though if they made one with Maerad all in the front, and everyone else behind, except it's all shadowy and Maerad has a flame in her hand maybe...and depending on how important the characters are :D they'll have less or more shadow...I know, kinda cliche but still...

sorry I should try to draw this :D :p

I got a peek at the American cover for the Riddle the other day! On the paperback edition of The Naming, there's a tear-off bookmark with part of the American cover for The Naming on one side, and a part of the cover of the Riddle on the other, and a very small picture of the whole cover. It's a bit different.

Maerad doesn't look anything like I've been imagining her on that cover. I mean, she's still got dark hair and stuff, but she looks different. It's got Maerad in the foreground with Irigan and then in the background it's got the ice palace and I think Arkan himself, because he looks pale and he has black braids. Could be wrong though.

I like the American cover of The Naming/The Gift the best, lol. But that's probably just because that's what my copy is. As a set, I think the British covers are the best. The colours are really great and the single image works really well on the cover. I especially like the British one for The Crow. Such a pretty shade of orange.

Man, that Riddle Cover sounds cool...Yeah they never make Maerad the way I imagine her...in my opinion on the American Naming cover they chose someone with features that were too angular for her, but I think they did Cadvan pretty well...Idunno :D

I think Alison mentioned at one point that it was Dharin in the background of the American Riddle cover.

On the subject of favourite covers, i still like the Australian Gift cover the best of them all with the Australian Crow cover coming in a close second.

Yeah, I remember her saying that. But the first thing I thought when I saw the guy on the cover was that it was Arkan, lol. He actually looks quite a bit like how I imagined him, to a point anyway. Alison would know, however.
