Those ^^ were later versions of the paperback. My American version of The Naming doesn't look like that, either. It looks the way the American Singing, does, as well as the other earlier versions of the other books I purchased.

So, yes, there will probably be a re-release. With a newer, stylized version.

Admittedly, I'm just desperate...

For fellow Australians I'm sure you know what I mean - the COVER!!!

To be precise, the original release covers of the first three Pellinor books (as in, the Australian covers) were some of the most BEAUTIFUL book covers on my bookshelf... and I was only waiting on The Singing to complete the set. And then, as publishers do, they released the final book in the series a full inch taller than the others, and in a completely different and hideously un-matching cover.

I was devastated. Still am. I have not yet read the book, because I am in denial about the whole thing. I'm just waiting for it to be released with MY cover. The beautiful landscape with a cloaked figure or two, and perhaps a bird. I dunno.

And so THIS is my last hope... unless I resort to tracking down mail addresses for Alison Croggon, which is only slightly stalkerish.

*begs on knees*
PLEASE, ALISON / ALISON'S PUBLISHER / ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WILL THE SINGING BE RELEASED IN A TRADITIONAL AUSSIE COVER? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COULD IT BE?

*sniffles* it's not that I don't like the new covers... it's just I don't like them AS MUCH. And I don't want a mismatching set. It's like Harry Potter and The Inheritance (Eragon) books... you want it to match because its pretty and nice and attentionating and... *rambles on*

Yeah, I have the U.S. paper back version of The Naming and The Riddle, but I have the U.S. hardback version of the Crow, and the European paperback version of The Singing. So my books don't match at all... I'm just glad I get to read them... To me the cover doesn't really matter :)

I know what you mean...The Naming, Riddle, and Crow for me are all nice matching US paperbacks...and the Singing is a hardback. I had no patience to wait for the paperback.

About the possiblity of matching Australian covers.

I'm relatively certain that a Singing cover to match the earlier books won't be released.

Since the other books were re-released with the British covers I think it's safe to say that Penguin's sticking with them.

I know it's annoying, I have mis-matched covers too!
