hmm im thinking for the uk addition that i agree with alison it will probley be the brooch. and maybe orange maybe... the ausie one they might want to do somehting thats not along the same lines as the first...i like the idea of a scene over looking the war bettween the light and dark...and the us editon i dont really know but to tell you the truth i didnt really like the first book cover i prefer the aussie one which is what i got..

I've never fully appreciated the wonderful map in Riddle until this afternoon. It's so much better than the one in the Gift, (it even has Pellinor on it, i remember being quite disappointed when it wasn't in Gift, though my guess about it's location was quite close), all those lovely little details *sigh* :D i do love a good map...

What's it like? Yes, do tell Alison :D

Hi Gemini ... the MAPS! Oh, they are obsessions with me. The one in the Oz Gift is just terrible. Penguin lost my original hand-drawn map and this one was done at the last minute from an nearly illegible photocopy. It makes absolutely no sense at all. Luckily the map turned up again, or I don't know what I would have done, because I need it to write the stories - (I promptly scanned it so it couldn't be lost). Patrick at Walker (bless him) commissioned an artist to make a proper map from mine - I showed Penguin the Walker maps and told them they had to get good ones... and finally I got the maps the book need.

Yes, do tell Alison :D

I've seen a black and white sketch. Well, basically it's the same format, with Maerad foreground holding Irigan all dressed in furs, a strange Native American-looking man (Dharin?) in the background, and a castle on a mountain (?, maybe Arkan-Da?). Again, it's going to look pretty groovy, but I'm not sure what the details have to do with the book...

WELL. I have just seen the rough design for the UK cover of The Crow, which looks great. I won't spill the beans too much - I'll post the final version, when it gets there - but I will say that it's not what I expected - aside from the fact that I was right on the colour! It's orange!

I imagined the books orange too... weird maybe it's because Turbansk is supposed to be like a desert.. I dunno... anyway I'm looking forward to seeing the Aussie version of The Crow cos i like the Aussie versions i think there better then the UK ones :p

I wonder if the Aussie version will have the hooded dude in it (I know someone mentioned this before about wether it's Cadvan or a hull but i think it might be Cadvan)

Btw Becks... i hate pink too it's so.... girly :D
