Okay, I don't normally like to talk about what I read but I've decided to leave the Writers forum to ask about Italo Calvino's "If on a winter's night a traveller", which I've just begun.
I've become enamored with the polyphonic way in which the story is told and am wondering if any of you forum monkey's know of any other books written in a similar fashion and, if you do, could you tell me what they are? Pretty please?

I think An Instance at the Finger Post by Iain Pears has been mentioned several times before, that is four different people telling the same story. Fingersmith which I must confess I have never read but I am watching on the BBC seems to be told from different perspectives also. Both have twists you wouldn't believe and are worth a read, though they are both historical fiction - I've not read the Calvino you have described and though I think I have read some of his work, I keep getting him muddled up with Umberto Eco :o As far as my poor brain is concerned, despite evidence to the contrary, there is a part of me that is convinced that they are the one and the same person.

Read this book and that conviction will increase twenty-fold. It's very strange.
