The Mighty '1000'!

As of 2:15pm, EST, TDTCB has finally cracked the '1000' ranking at Amazon.co.uk, reaching the dizzying heights of 797. Happy times!

It looks like the books might repeat their Canadian market success elsewhere afterall, something which has been a big 'IF' for quite some time now. Truth be told, given the way the Amazons rank books, it will remain a big if for some time to come, especially if it comes crashing back to the 10 000's. But still, the symbolism! The symbolism! :D

The question now is one of just why this sudden leap happened.

Why, you ask? Why? Because the book is damn good that 'Why'. Except for page 257 paragrah 1 line 3 (hard cover edition) It sets a unfortunate precedent. I've not found anything else technically wrong with the book (I would have PM'd you but public ridicule seemed more appropriate ;)). The characters, the set up, the delivery are all brilliant. The jump is very likely due to Word of mouth. I've already told several friends to pick up this book (ones I know like psychological themed books as well as religious themes). Don't know if any picked it up, but I've been talking up your book as well as Gary's and Kevin's. They're all great in their own way. There's no reason all three of you shouldn't find great success.

Anyway, I'm going to stop posting now and get back to the book. BTW, I'm curious, why do so many chapters have the same name? You're messing with my head, aren't you?

Well, I know my fantasy book club were pushing it very hard in its last mag (it was on the page where you get a free book if you order it or one of a number of others ;) )

This did cause a problem as I wanted Janny Wurt's new book this month (Which happened to be on the same page just below "The Darkness That Comes Before.")

So I ordered both.(In the hope I get TWO free books!!) ;)

Well, whatever the cause, it was fleeting, ephemeral, a veritable lift-his-hopes-up-high-then-crush-him-in-the-dust will o' the wisp. :p

I actually just finished going through the UK proofs and found dozens of mistakes in both books, mauss. Un-fricken-believeable. Some always slip through.

Cool news about the book club, Holbrook. Is that in the UK?
