Scripture: History or Fantasy?

I disagree with the unicorn statement. A unicorn would be a physical presence. God isn't and never has been (well, if you count Jesus he was once for a very short period of time).

My big problem with religion is the same as many on this thread and it's still not been addressed. Every.

What makes the God from the middle east more right than say the God(s) of the Aztec who were thousands of miles away from the one 'true' God? Why isnt Buddah right that we don't have a God, but must find inner peace? Why aren't the Hindu right that there are over 8,000,000 forms of God? Why is the one God that has conquored all other religions, forced people to accept this new religion (and don't try to tell me this isn't the case) and forced down people's throats for 4,000 years the right religion? Why were all the other religions wrong for all those years?

Yes, Maus. I too have asked that and wondered about that over and over. In fact I mentioned it in one of my last posts.

As far as the unicorn is concerned, change my words a bit and let the child say that 'they sensed a unicorn in the room'. Is that better? If the child insisted that what he/she sensed was real, though you might not be able to see it, what would you think? It's the same question Scott is asking in his last paragraph. What makes this child's experience any less reliable than Tex's?

Maybe if she said 'Shiva' is in my room. Of course if the goddess Shiva was in my daughter's room I'd very likely freak out. That and the fact she knew that particular goddess' name. :)

I think, personally, something like a mythical animal is normal for children to believe in much in the way of imaginary friends. I don't think I'd have that much trouble with it. If my daughter started saying God stopped by for tea and a chat, I'd start to get worried.

Especially as Randy Savage and Andre the Giant are no longer on the scene!

Oh, sorry I am cross-referencing threads... my bad.

don't push me, Gary... it is only the immense respect I have for you that prevents me from posting 'that' picture alongside one of HH...

I shall go back to the shadows, and divert the topic no more... your modesty and our friendship intact!
