Cadvan's Thread (spoilers for The Riddle)

mmm how does Cadvan being wonderfuly perfect make the book have a flaw?

If he was perfect, he wouldn't be very real. That in turn would be a flaw.

Thanks Kristin for pointing out some of his flaws. I'm not yet entirely convinced, perhaps because I've yet to read The Riddle, that his silence doesn't make him mysteriously appealing, as one of my friends describes his type of character. (She didn't actually read the book, but Cadvan fits.)

Whitesilkbreeze, your intelligent (albeit annoying) statement has just made me realise that I am writing the stereotypical flawed male character into the story I'm currently working on. Bugger. *clicks fingers*

I'm sorry. ._.

Don't be! It's just that the obsessive fangirl within me often seeks to infiltrate my writing with the most cliched cliches imaginable, something that I really should try and curb. :D Ah, what's a girl to do?

Hi Kristin! Totally agree with what you said - love the term PDA... :D

Bai_Xu: If I ever manage to finish the story (which is unlikely when one takes into account the amount of schoolwork I've got  ), and if I decide that it is not a load of old crap by the time I do finish :D , I may send a letter or two off to a publisher...

In honour of Caddie's eternal flame of hottness, I have drawn a piccy of him on microsoft paint to join Maerad's... although the picture doth him no justice... I shall post it for the sake of it.

I never really pictured him with a goatee, it just kind'a slipped out in the process of drawing him... :o

There's this certain thing for Cadvan that so many people have...
so i wanted to ask -

what is it about Cadvan that makes him... 'attractive'?

I mean, I love his character and everything, but what does everyone think? What is it about Cadvan especially that makes him so special? I can't seem to pinpoint it...

He's just beautiful.
And clever.
And powerful.
And mysterious.
And reserved.
And beautiful.
And wise.
And wordly.
And sorrowful.
And beautiful.
And sexy.
And moral.
And beautiful.

And beautiful.

I reckon the way he's kind of arrogant and reserved and quiet and knowledgable makes him seem sexy, and how he protects Maerad, and can beat people up :p

To name a few - he's:
beautiful, fragile, moody, aloof, silent, tall, sezzy, a great rider, great warrior, magically powerful, blue-eyed, black-haired, strong facial features, handsome, sezzy, emotional, not afraid to cry, caring, a good friend, got a dark past, battle-scarred, got a 'rare, brilliant smile' :D , had loadsa girl friends before, slightly arrogant, sezzy, hot, and sezzy...And I'm willing to bet that he likes a bit of hot sex  :D
I think every one likes a flawed yet sezzy hero, don't they?
