Yes thats quite possible as in The Gift Maerad starts to read a poem entitled For Clavila, although this could just be after she dies i feel it has more relevance than just that

And on this subject i always wondered if there was anything going on with Dernhil and Clavila.
lol, it's strange when've you've been around the forum for a while, you start to notice the stages that newbies go through :D. We've been through the Dernhil/ Clavila thing a couple of times now, Alison debunked way back...

Sorry Gemini that must be on one of the threads i haven't read! Ok hopefully this isn't on any other threads. At the beginning of the Riddle in "a note on the text" it specifically describes the story as "a classic romance". Well at least we know there will be some..... phew. Now we just have to find out who.....

actually, the word 'romance', when referring to the narrative style of a book, doesn't always mean a love story per se. I believe that in this context Alison was using it as a variant of the word 'epic'...although it's mighty tempting to believe that she was actually alluding to something between M&C! :D

Certain people are giving VERY complicated definitions of the word 'romance' when used at the beggining of a book/narrative..........and then everyone else is trying to make that still sound as if something is still going to happen between M&C. :)
