Thanks for the feedback on the music. I agree about a top line being needed. I actually started doing ornamentation with panpipes, but then i stopped because I thought it would be good for someone else who's interested to compose their own melody over the top of what I've already got and I didnt want them to be limited by a panpipe overload!

Tempo - I had some real problems with this. To maximise time, I used a keyoard to record into sibelius direct - so the tempos got all wonky. Usually I have no problem going bakc and fixing them but on this occasion, when I deleated the second tempo marking (the 65.somthing) and the rest of teh crazy tempo markings throughout, it all looked fine (and saved over the old version fine) but then on the export to midi it lost the piano part entirely. Also corrupted a lot of the text and expression markings. grr frustrating. I had no idea what the problem was and not too much time to waste on it so i reverted to an earlier copy and didnt bother mucking about for now. Really just wanted to get it up and see what people thought.

Dawnstorm - if there's anything you can do feel free to fix it up! Would be much appreciated indeed. Tempo should be andante - somewhere between 76 and 108. Also feel free to have a muck about with melodies over the top or counterpoints or anything else you fancy. Would be great to hear other people's additions.

Hi,

I've upped the tempo to 80 (much faster sounds silly). I didn't export all the sys-ex commands (I don't know what they do, but not all soundcards can interpret them anyway. You have a Roland compatible keyboard, don't you? ;) )

The piece is now 2:36 minutes long (instead of 3:13). PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it.

I may add something, but adding isn't something I'm too good at (my compos don't even have as much texture as yours has).

Wow, this sounds so cool! lol. I play the flute, should anyone need me, but I'm not very experienced (3 years in my school band :P).

And Draoi, is there another link to Cai's theme. Because it just doesn't seem to work for me. :( I really want to listen to it.

Cheers all. Does anyone fancy putting one of Alison's poems to a melody over the top? That's kinda the idea - group input and all.

Ok next installment...

This one I imagined as a theme for The Riddle when Maerad and Cadvan are on the WHite Owl with Owen. Here's a link to the midi file "Owen d'Aroki"

Feel free to note some improvments, or stylistic issues or anything you want and Ill make the changes and repost.

Yay! This one worked! lol. It's good! V. v. Good! But I think you can improve it with some... what do you call them? >_< Quavers going lower towards the end of the long semibreves? If you get what I mean... blah. lol. Now, let's see if I can download Cai's Theme...

Go Draoi! What a lovely theme for Owan (who's a character I'm rather fond of, even if he's minor) - it really suits him. It's really quite a thrill to hear these themes - I'm fascinated!
