Thanks Alison. Hey i just noticed that the verison of Owen's theme I linked to has a whole heap of weird bangs and toots through it instead of a whistle solo! hehe sounds ok too! Here is the proper verison with a kinda wonky melody in a whistle part.

I kind of liked the "weird bangs and toots", but the whistle is cool. So is it an opera you're writing there, Draoi? :p

I have to agree - I thought that the "weird bangs and toots" were really good because they added some interesting variation and texture to the piece...but the whistle did that also (though not in the same way. It sounded kind of haunting, and sea-like...). Could you add the bangs and toots back in?

wow, that was a gorgeous piece of music, I loved both versions. I think it would sound great if it had the 'bangs and toots' and the whistle.

I was a little conserned about the ads on that site...

Just to reiterate what Calypso said...
Yes this is the right thread for the band (though it may not seem so...:D)
Basically, anyone who plays an instrument is welcome to join (whether you're a professional flautist or beginner triangle-player :p) and if you would like to join please post:
The instrument(s) you play
What grade / level you play at
Any access to recording equipment etc. that could be useful
Any opinions you have about the music style you think we should be playing...
You get the idea :D
If you don't play an instrument, we're always looking for:
Composers
Lyricists
Critics (constructive ONLY :p)
Artistic people who would like to do designing for...posters? CD covers? logos? that kind of thing (HippieChick is in charge of that - ask her!!! :D)
And any other posts we might need that I have forgotten!!!
Also, it would be nice to have a name...any ideas?
Thanks,
Loiren
