Umm...we were told not to start a new thread, but to keep to this one...
There was also Bards of the Seven Kingdoms, which we thought was good, because the Seven Kingdoms kind of represented the fact that we all live in different countries...

We can vote here though (or come up with more names :D).

I do like The Bards, like HippieChick said, its short, sweet and to the point :D !

Anyone been composing anything recently? I've not really had time, what with exams and everything...I've done some, but they're a bit random and don't seem to represent anything...they're also rather short...:( I might make it a summer holiday project...

Hi! I like this idea, it's really very fascinating.

I've been playing flute for only a few years, but I think I play it exceptionally well for my age and experience. I could probably do some stuff with Cai's theme if I played around with it a bit. I'm not exactly sure what everyone's looking for, and how this will work exactly.

(BTW, the themes are gorgeous! Kudos to you!)

I could probably compose some good stuff, but I'm not that experienced, being thirteen. LOL. I don't know elements and structure, etc.

Well, this thread is a little old, but I hope this post brings it back to the front!

Oh, I've been playing piano for six years too, and I'm pretty good at that. And I think it'd be fun to do some lyrics if you guys came up with a theme for me to work with.

And if you gave me the music for the Owen one, I could play the whistle part on the flute, and I think (not sure) that it would sound rather pretty.

Can I play flute too? I have years of experience (and my own flute!).
Oh and I like Bards of the Seven Kingdoms sounds good

I think a sort of contemporary duet where two flutes' melodies entwine, each independent but sometimes as a whole harmonized and sometimes dissonant, would be beautiful.

We could call it Cadvan and Maerad, and one flute's melody would be Cadvan, and the other Maerad! (Maybe?) I'm not talking about two random melodies, though, they should have some sort of relationship to one another.

Do you know what I mean?

(I'm not talented enough to compose this; I'm just throwing out an idea!)

One could be a tenor part (i think Cadvan's voice is described as tenor or bass?) and one could be contralto part and it's like a harmony, and then one part they can play the same melody (in the same key) you know? Actually, it'd probably end up being more soprano/alto if we both play the same flutes... the standard one in C?

And I don't think that it should only be flutes; it'd probably get too repetitive. Maybe some drums and metal sounds...hm...strings, probably, but not throughout the whole thing...

And what about Arkan and Maerad instead of Cadvan and Maerad? It might be better, since Arkan's personality is so much easier to show through music than Cadvan.

But Cadvan's melody would have to be sad, and forlorn, and a little lost, with that brilliant smile thrown in.

Oh, oh! I have an idea! What about, the two melodies are very much dissonant in the beginning, each following their own path, but then BAM! Suddenly they join in harmony! I think that'd be interesting. It'd represent Cadvan and Maerad meeting, or something like that, and their "song is joined" or something. I don't know.

Once again, I don't have the skill to do this, just supplying some ideas.
