hehe well have a fun time being annoying!

ooooo and i found another song.

Wild Horses by Natasha Bedingfield.

I feel these four walls closin' in
My face up against the glass
Im looking out,
Is this my life I'm wonderin'
It happened so fast
How do I turn this thing around
Is this the bed I chose to make
Its greener pastures i'm thinkin' about,
Wide open spaces far away

All I want is the wind in my hair
To face the fear but not feel scared

Wild horses I wanna be like you
Throwing caution to the wind
I'll run free too
Wish I could recklessly love
Like im longing too
I wanna run with the wild horses
Run with the wild horses,

I see the girl I wanna be
Riding bareback, carefree along the shore
If only that someone was me
Jumpin' head first headlong with out a fall
To act and damn the consequence
How I wish it could be that easy
But fear surrounds me like a fence
I wanna break free

All I want is the wind in my hair
To face the fear but not feel scared

wild horses I wanna be like you
Throwing caution to the wind
I'll run free too
Wish I could recklessly love
Like im longing too
I wanna run with the wild horses
Run with the wild horses

I wanna run to you
hohhh woah oh woah oh

Brecklessly abandoning myself before you

I wanna open up my heart, tell him how I feel

Wild horses I wanna be like you
Throwing caution to the wind
I'll run free too
Wish I could recklessly love
Like im longing too
I wanna run with the wild horses
Run with the wild horses

I wanna run with the wild horses

Not so much with the lyrics as the last song but you get the general idea of freedom. See if you can listen to it :)

There's this really random song on youtube.com called "It's not me, it's you!" and it's kinda funny...oh yea, there are these super pretty songs i like, one is called Seasons of Love and the other is a form on Canon in D but it's sung by a children's choir and it's really proffessional and pretty.

Shoot me if there's a thread for this already...

This thread is for the sharing of real-life music and songs, that anyone found suitable or is just plain WRITTEN FOR a moment, event, feeling, or couple in the Pellinor series. Theme or mood music.

Here's my first contribution, the duet:
All I Ask of You from the Phantom of the Opera.

No more talk of darkness,
forget these wide-eyed fears;
I'm here, nothing can harm you,
my words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom,
let daylight dry your tears;
I'm here, with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you.

Christine
Say you'll love me ev'ry waking moment;
turn my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you now and always;
promise me that all you say is true,
that's all I ask of you.

Raoul
Let me be your shelter,
let me be your light;
you're safe, no one will find you,
your fears are far behind you.

Christine
All I want is freedom,
a world with no more night;
and you, always beside me,
to hold me and to hide me.

Raoul
Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime;
let me lead you from you solitude.
Say you need me with you, here beside you,
anywhere you go, let me go too,
that's all I ask of you.

Christine
Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime.
Say the word and I will follow you.

Together
Share each day with me, each night, each morning.

Christine
Say you love me...

Raoul
You know I do.

Together
Love me, that's all I ask of you.

Anywhere you go let me go too

Love me...
that's all I ask of you.

It's such a beautiful song! I can just imagine Cadvan and Maerad singing it... :p When Maerad becomes depressed or self-doubting, Cadvan comforting her...

PELLINOR, the MUSICAL! :p

GO PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!

Although I've never really been a fan of All I Ask of You for some reason. Love songs make me depressed, somehow...

Anyhoo, it's kind of weird, because I JUST read a couple poems by the great poet Carl Sandburg and they fit Maerad. I know it's not about music...But since it's to do with the current topic, I think it'll be okay if I post them.

CHILD FACE

There are lips as strange and soft
As a rim of moon many miles off,
White on a fading purple sea.
"Was it there, far-off, real,
Or did my eyes play me a trick?"

A finger can be laid across it,
Laid on a little mouth's white yearning,
Only as a white rim of a moon
Can be picked off a blue sea
And sent in a love letter.

Once a child face lay in moonlight
Of an early spring night.

-

I don't know, this somehow reminded me of Maerad. Maybe from Cadvan's point of view. Because for all Maerad's responsibilities, she is very much a vulnerable child.

Also, it reminds me of the scene on the boat where Cadvan looks at Maerad's face in the moonlight.

HONEY AND SALT
(Excerpt)

Can love be locked away and kept hid?
Yes and it gathers dust and mildew
and shrivels itself into shadows
unless it learns the sun can help,
snow, rain, storms can help--
birds in their one-room family nexts
shaken by winds cruel and crazy--
they can all help:
lock not away your love nor keep it hid.

-

This seems to be especially describing Maerad, who hasn't learned to love freely for fear of getting hurt.

BTW, anyone been to the Books of Pellinor site yet?

http://www.booksofpellinor.com

The music playing on the front page is gorgeous. Just the right type if the books ever get made into movies.
