I love Evanescence! But I agree MM, it should be orchestral.

Oh, I wasn't meaning these as the soundtrack! YUCK! No way!:eek:

Just as songs that fit the storyline/characters.

wait a minute...i'm sorry i haven't had time to read everything, but are you talking about bard music as in what they sing (in the books maybe?) or bard music as in what you think it sounds like or bard music as in what the ACTUAL bards sang many many years ago? or just music that somehow fits in? How about Sarah Mclachlan or say.... hmm....something instrumental.... idk

I'll repeat:

Just as songs that fit the storyline/characters.

Although I think Enya's Evacuee and How Can I Keep From Singing might be able to work in the film...I think Enya actually did a piece in LotR, if I'm not mistaken.

Evacuee--

How Can I Keep From Singing?

Since the latter has been mostly de-Christianized, it fits Pellinor better. (i.e. Since Christ is lord of Heaven and earth = since LOVE is lord of heaven and earth)

I'm not anti-Christian or anything, in fact I'm Lutheran, but since Pellinor isn't a Christian nation and doesn't even have gods at all I don't think it would fit if it had religious references.

I think Enya would be great.Or maybe Hayley Westenra? She is a Celtic singer. Here is a youtube link to one of her songs:

Whoa, Sirkana, where did I start talking about Orchestra?????

My last post, as I recall, was saying I liked parts of Breath of Heaven/Mary's Song. Where was the orchestra in that?

(please help me; I'm slow today...)

I think it would be awesome if Enya wrote something special for the soundtrack if they made the books into movies! :D

I think she had a typo-- she meant Maerad-Pellinor.
