thanx dawnstar. that helped.:)

snekababs - but it wasnt tragedy when Cadvan died, for he didnt die because of a fatal flaw that he has that permenantly affect his judgement. As im typing this, my other half of my brain is shouting 'what about that he doesnt share things with Maerad'. dont you hate it when you want to talk to yourself, part of you ignores you, but when you dont need the conversation, anyways...... if you were to take this as a fatal flaw, Cadvan could be considered a traic hero.
hmmm.ive lost my thread of thought.
anyways, i think i agree with dawnstar, we dont necessarily feel the same sense of feeling that cathariss is meant to evoke in us, but we still have emotions that are on the same level as that of catharsis.
so um, yea.

Whenever I read a book, whether tragedy or not, if I enjoy it the feeling is always the same. I read books mainly for the characters.

I go on this journey with them, whether its good or bad, and when we reach the destination we say goodbye. *Its that sense of leaving a good friend when you know you won't see them ever again. You're sad to see them go, but on the other hand, think of all the good times you had. I suppose its a sense of, 'Now its over, I really enjoyed that.'

*I do have real friends too, I promise!

okay here are my thoughts...

It all depends on what kind of story is being given. Yes all feelings for the most part are the same but the reason behind them is most likely different. Fro example: there are some movies/books that are so true and non-fiction and they leave us with the feeling that that could one day happen to us in our everyday lives. Well, this also goes for fictional movies/books. They are put together in such a way that they can leave us thinking that it could happen to us, but it really cannot so we are left only dreaming about it. Does this make sense???

So basically what I am saying is that no matter what the plot is, everything with leave us with the same thoughts, the same emotions, but how we got to those thoughts and how those thoughts affect our lives all depend on the original plot of the movie/book. I don't think that made sense either, but it does in my head.
