Just curious if anyone has this old jewel of an author. I have read and reread his Taltos series of novels over the last several years. Just finished rereading another and felt inspired to find others who may have had the pleasure or displeasure of the experience. Its certainly a refreshing change from the mainstream to find a writer with a firm grasp for writing in the first-person. Vlad Taltos is a fantastic character full of color in his sarcastic, satirical personality. If you haven't read Brust's work and are looking for a break from mainstream GRRM or WOT or dramatic epics, these books with certainly fit the bill.

Here (http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001521.html) is a fairly current topic that mentions Brust.
I myself like Brust, have read the first 3 Taltos books and have a couple of the omnibus editions on my to-read pile.
Aside from myself, there are a couple of other Brust fans haunting the forum here.

I'm a great fan of Brust. What impresses me is how easily he works different styles.
The Taltos novels are hard-boiled like books by Chandler or Hammet, they remind me of the movie Pulp-fiction. Then you read the Phoenix guards, and Brust actually pulls it off to write like Alexandre Dumas. Then there is Freedom and necessity which is (brilliantly) written like a Victorian letter novel. And finally Gipsy which is a great combination of American cop story with Hungarian fairy tales. Not to forget Agyar, which is a great take on the Vampire novel.
