Hi,
Are we ever going to see Innail again? Will Maerad go back in the 4th book?

Well, I finished The Gift just as The Riddle arrived in the mail. I'm now nearly done with the latter, and it will be hard to wait for The Crow. I remember waiting for Patricia A. McKillip to finish her Riddle Master of Hed series. Sweet agony.

I've probably most enjoyed watching Maerad learn and grow. I think it's fantastic how that has happened, and how the dialog and interactions with other characters are so rich. The distinct cultures of the world are great too. All in all, a very satisfying literary experience.

If you've enjoyed these books as I have, I'd recommend the works of Martha Wells (Death of the Necromancer, Wizard Hunters, etc.)

It's been asked a few times now and unfortunatly, no they won't be, seeingas Crow ends on the same day that Riddle does

BTW welcome Keith :D

Hello everyone. I've only just signed up, after devouring the sample chapters of The Riddle and The Crow. I was browsing these forums by chance (clicked on the link when I was aiming for a link next to it) and thought it an excellent idea to join.

I've recently read (and re-read) The Gift (UK edition). I saw it in a bookshop and thought it looked interesting. Since I'd seen it before on a few other occasions, I thought I might as well buy it and read it. I'm so glad I did! I love fantasy stories and I've read a number of fantasy books, but there's something about The Gift that makes me love it to pieces. I'm obssessing over it at the moment; that doesn't usually happen, I'm pretty calm when I read books and can put them aside afterwards. The last time I obssessed incessantly was with the His Dark Materials trilogy.

Sadly, I haven't seen The Riddle selling here yet. (Double boo times two.) I'm going to have my eye out for it every time I frequent a bookshop now. It's terribly frustrating to not know when it will be selling here. Grr.

Anyway, I think I can fill up the Maerad-void that is growing inside me if I come here often enough. =)

And that is my little introductory post (okay, not so little in size, now I look at it). You probably can gather I am rather long-winded. I'm working on being more concise.

I hope I'll be forgiven for any mistakes I make while I try and get a feel for the ropes around here. I'm very pleased to have joined these forums and I think you are all very friendly people. =D

Welcome, welcome! I discovered The Gift the same way as you - saw it in Waterstones last October, thought it looked interesting, and since then have been, like you, obsessing over it. :D
You're right, we are all friendly people...sometimes. (just check mine and Gemini's tiff on the 'Treesong as Films?' thread...) You'll need to be warned that most of us are Maerad/Cadvan shippers, and will suffer no slight to our beloved Cadders. Warning: we're all armed with pitchforks, so be careful what you say about him  :D.
Nice to meet you!

Welcome, welcome, Keith and whitesilkbreeze!
I have no wise advise to give to you, for most has already been said, and the rest is up to you to find out.
Welcome! :D
