hi and welcome! dont worry the people here are not quite as intimidating as they first seem!
Sadly, I haven't seen The Riddle selling here yet. (Double boo times two.) I'm going to have my eye out for it every time I frequent a bookshop now. It's terribly frustrating to not know when it will be selling here. Grr. which country would "here" be? i had to look for AGES to find my copy as NOWHERE had it - i eventually snagged the last copy in the - largest might i add - Borders that we have (to prevent confusion, im a Brit  )

Hi whitesilkbreeze and Keith_S. Welcome. :D
You can always pre-order books if the book that you want is not in stock its usually free of charge- all the large bookshops do it - well I think they do anyway!. Well, I know Ottakas definitely do it because that's how I got hold of the Riddle and I'm sure WHSmiths, Borders, etc. do it too.

Thank you for the welcomes! I did indeed notice the pitchforks in some topics when a Maerad-Cadvan union was opposed. Although I personally would be rather disturbed if there were mention of babies in the books -- it doesn't seem to fit in the style, so I'd rather leave it to imagination after the books' ending -- I'd be rather disappointed myself if they didn't get together at the very end. I can see a little why people say it wouldn't be right, but my whole viewpoint is an argument worth talking about another time, on a more relevant topic. :P

which country would "here" be?

I live in Hong Kong SAR (Special Administrative Region), so it's not exactly a country... It's next to China, used to be a British colony and will return to complete mainland China rule in 2047. Currently it administrates itself for most things. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about it on the chatty thread (most people I've talked to online don't really know much about HK). Questions are much more preferable to stereotypical accusations and misconceptions, the like of which I've had the misfortune to meet. :p

i went to Hong Kong a long time ago - i was only 5 - and the only thing I remember that isnt a blur is going to Macdonalds at three in the morning with my dad and brother, all being jet-lagged, but its somewhere I've always really wanted to go back to and have a real experience of. Two of my friends recently moved there actually so I suppose thats another reason, but its a place i really regret not having more memories of.

I'm a Canadian-born Chinese, so I guess we're both ethnically Chinese! I moved here when I was 2 so my memories of living in Canada are rather non-existant, although I've returned there for holidays a number of times.

And I'm pleased to announce I have found The Riddle selling in bookstores (and bought it!). I refuse to read it at the moment because then I'd have to wait for The Crow. I'm waiting until I can't bear not reading The Riddle anymore before tearing apart the packaging.
