ummmm, i remember Arkan as having plae skin and white hair, so maybe "tall, light and handsome..." :D

i'm going to have to finish this post tomorrow a huge storm is coming and i have to disconnect the internet and batten down the hatches.

I was sure he had dark hair... ok im gonna check... yeh its black and long :D

Exactly my point!! And there's also that bit on the boat in the moonlught where Maerad's fears of men are re-awaken because of the way he was acting. :p

Yup yup :D ... But what i still don't understand is when he said Maerad reminded him of Queen Ardina and after Maerad thought it was "someone else, perhaps" I wonder who it was? maybe it was Nerili?

I have a feeling he's going to come back somewhere in the last book and possibly try to kidnap Maerad again... then Cadvan could be her knight in shining armor! Or he could just send some more things after them again or maybe Arkan could help them beat Sharma and then Cadvan could get really jelous and confess his love for Maerad.... Ahhh the possibilities :p

i like this idea!!! :D maybe then Cadvan will realise how he feels. - but also didnt Maerad say in the Riddle when she was thinking about Cadvan that he had been her first friend and also a father to her or something? but maybe after Arkan she will be more prepared to think about Cadvan in a different way

wow that sounds like some storm!

whoops! a bit slow off the mark there sorry

Yeh i definetly think after Arkan Maerad's gonna be less scared of love and hopefully realised she loves Cadvan... if she hasn't realised that already... I forget cos the books just talk about so many different types of love I have no idea what love they are talking about half the time

I know I mean there are so many ways of interpreting love and 'tenderness'. It is confusing and ironically like a riddle. I think though if Maerad is going to fall for Cadvan it may take some time. Also she did say when she thought that he had died that he had been her best friend, teacher and like a father to her, which does not inspire me with much hope for her to fall passionately IN love with him in the way we all want her to. But maybe I'm just being pessimistic!

i know what you mean - and all that "way of the heart" stuff too and the treesong being sung with love - maybe its the love between Maerad and Cadvan (which they WILL realise in book 4) which that talks about?

Maybe...but Maerad has already played that flute thingy just after cadvan "dies" with all the love and grief in her heart and nearly died... does that mean when she actually does sing the treesong with all the love in her heart, etc she is going to die...     ...that is not allowed to happen...that's just not fair...

Hey,

Maybe when (if) Hem cums bak, maybe Maerad needs Her, Hem and Cadvan to perform the Treesong..... Maybe Hem is part of the treesong or he finds sumfing 2 do wif it....personally I fink Saliman will die, I don't kno y tho It's just a feelin'!!!!!

Poor Saliman (I say again) - he's scarcely been in the books yet and there he is, with a death sentence! :D

Yes, love is very complicated! Not to say confusing! Cadvan, of course, knows this well... but none of you are put off by his harshness? He's a difficult man sometimes, and terribly solitary...and he's quite cruel to Maerad in The Riddle I foresee complicated lovelives for the the lot of you! :D
