Pellinor: General Discussion

okay another one about characters how does it feel for you, the author, when people respond to your characters? Like this: so-and-so is so cool because... or so-and-so is evil because...How does that make you feel? All warm and fuzzy, I would imagine or not , For example the whole thing that some people started with M+C (okay I know you probably barf every time you see that by now, but still ) Do you even care what people say? Are you afraid what they say will affect the characters in some way, shape, or form?

Hi Lemur Girl - no barfing here, I assure you... I find it amazing that people respond like they do to the characters, and very gratifying, it must be said. They are very real to me when I write them, and it's wonderful and still kind of astonishing to hear how they can be real to others. I think it's just encouraging... I think the only effect really is to remind me to not to get slack, and just to remember that the characters must matter to me if they're to matter to anyone else.

And Emerald_Dragyn, it's settled down as the Pellinor series or maybe Quartet!

Please can someone tell me the EXACT release date for The Crow in Australia and is it the same in WA? (sometimes we get things like a week later)

Next Wednesday....good grief...*hyperventilates* My school library said they had ordered it for July. I am now in shock...Good shock. :)

Wow, I haven't been here in so long, it took me ages to read over the pages I had missed. So, my apologies if I repeat a past question...or something that's clarified in the books (I haven't got a copy with me at the moment so I can't check, and my memory is atrocious).

1. You've said that Maerad's hands are whole when she is in her power. Does this mean she can still play the lyre, or is that now completely impossible for her (I mean, impossible to play the way she used to. I know she can still strum a few simpler songs)?

2. In the Riddle Sirkana tells Maerad that her father knew from his teenage years that he would bear the One. Did he realise that this was Maerad, or did he think it could have been Hem as well? I figure he wasn't sure because they were both so young, but maybe he guessed or speculated...?

Also, did Milana know? I assume Dorn would have told her, but I wasn't sure how much she was aware of.

Thanks. Again, sorry if I've repeated anything asked before or mentioned in the books.

Whitesilkbreeze, can't I get a little rich? :D

Well, a little wealth can't hurt... But only a little bit, mind! :p

I'll be crossing my fingers for the Miyazaki venture as well. :D

I had a thought! I know, don't look so shocked!

i don't know if it should be in spolier tags or not, but better to be safe than sorry:

with her new-found abilities, could Maerad possibly turn herself and Cadvan into eagles or something and fly north to save time?

merci! The Crow in two days!! Maybe we should be a cult... 'people of the crow' anyway...

Eeeeemerald :) :) :)
